Bandbox Dog Salon

I have been taking my dogs here for over 15 years. They treat me and my dogs like family. I have never had a complaint from my dogs. They must love their job if they're getting bitten scratched for doing haircut. They are saints and have lots of patience.

I have a 12 year old Shih Tzu (Marty) who has been groomed by Bandbox since he was 3 months old. At a grooming a month that's 141 times Marty has been in Michelle and Martins care. I wouldn't consider taking Marty anywhere else ~ ever. I can also credit Michelle for saving Marty's life as Michelle raised some concern about his rear leg and a lump she felt during a grooming session. She was concerned and advised I have Marty looked at by a vet. Thanks to Michelle we discovered Marty had a large fast growing tumor in the muscle of his leg ~ Marty had surgery and thanks to Michelle I have a happy healthy dog. We LOVE Bandbox!!!

To say I am thrilled with this salon is an understatement. I have been taking my Schnoodle to Michele at the Bandbox for six years now. Our little "Angel" has a bit of an attitude about her grooming and after attempting to groom her myself a few times I quickly realized that I wasn't qualified! Our first visit in was for a 'FIX IT UP PLEASE" visit...I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly greeting by Martin, Michele's husband and co-owner of the shop. It was clear from the moment I set foot in the salon that this was a family run business, and that customers were treated as part of the family...and that our "fur babies" were treated with all of the care and consideration as any other member of the family. Michele has a kind and gentle touch with the dogs and the skill to groom any breed entrusted to her. She truly has a love of animals that shines through and I have been a regular customer since that first visit. My little Angel no longer has an attitude about being groomed and I'm happy to report that she has not needed any more Fix it up visits, and looks in fact exactly like a Schnoodle should!

My little Bichon/Shih Tzu suffered severe & life threatening injuries while being groomed at the Bandbox Dog & Cat Salon, on January 20, 2016. My dog suffered a broken jaw & 2 broken teeth....I had to choose between euthanizing my little dog or putting her through a long, expensive surgery, followed by more pain. My little dog had the surgery & suffers a lot from pain, it is so sad! I recommend that you do no take your pet to the Bandbox! Bandbox deserves no stars but it is mandatory to post a review!

Yesterday, January 20, 2016 at 8:45 a.m.. I took my 8 yr. old Bichon/Shih Tzu, who weighs 10 - 11 lbs to the Bandbox for grooming & she came home in pain. My little dog went there healthy & came home with a broken jaw. They deny, deny any mistreatment!

I have been taking my 2 little dogs to Bandbox for close to 5 years. Both of my dogs are special needs (one had a stroke and one has had back surgery). They are gentle and caring when grooming both of them.
When I added my rescue to the group (she is a large breed) Michelle, actually would hold and kiss her face to reassure her as they cut her nails. After 2 years of taking my big dog, she gets excited when Michelle greets her. I would absolutely recommend for anyone to take their fur family to them!

I have been going to them for approximately 7 years now and you cant find a better place. They are caring, my dog loves them and the owners are simply super people. Our groomer Blair is amazing, and our dog always comes home looking really pretty. Great Cut!!!!!

I take my poodles to Bandbox. They don't like that I leave them behind, but the staff there love them to bits. I have in ten years never had a problem with them, they are so thorough, they love my dogs like it is their own and they always come home happy and smelling wonderful.
Yes, it is a small business, yes they only accept cash or cheques and yes, you can go to Petland if you like mass production stuff. I hope that Bandbox will be in business for as long as we have our puppies and live in Calgary.

The Bandbox Salon has been our salon for 25+ years. We have found that the dedication and professionalism of the staff is second to none. They deeply care about the animals that have been left in their charge and ensure that the animals are well taken care of. We would definitely not take our dog anywhere else.

We have been taking our Airedale, Parker, to the Bandbox Dog Salon since we moved to Calgary 3 years ago. It is fabulous, and I could not imagine taking our dog anywhere else. But it is our dog Parker that is the happiest. His whole body wags when we drop him off...he just loves it!

STOPPED BY ON SATURDAY TO GET A QUOTE TO GET MY 9MONTH OLD LAB A BATH & NAILS DONE, WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE APPROX. $27.50. MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND TOOK HER IN ON WEDNESDAY. IT TOOK OVER 3 HOURS FOR THE BATH & NAILS. WHEN I WENT IN TO PICK HER UP SHE WAS SO SCARED AND STRESSED OUT!! MY DOG IS THE HAPPIEST & FRIENDLIEST DOG YOU COULD EVER MEET... I HAVE NEVER SEEN HER SO SAD & UPSET..SHE COULDN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF THERE. WHEN I WENT TO PAY.. IT IS CASH ONLY!! THEY COULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT WHEN THEY CALLED ME TO PICK THE DOG UP. NOT ONLY WAS IT CASH ONLY..THE PRICE WAS $63!!!! OF COURSE I HAD TO PAY THE MONEY BECAUSE THEY HAD MY DOG!! I WANTED TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS..BUT NEVER AGAIN, I WILL GO BACK TO PETSMART!! SHE LOVES THE PEOPLE AT PETSMART AND THEY ONLY CHARGE $30...SHAME ON YOU BANBOX!!

I have been going to band box for twenty years they are so good with cats and dogs. My dog jumps at the door to get in. The staff are solo nice and friendly. They are great people. All of Calgary should be takeing there pets there, they are the best

I've been taking my 18 year old cat to Bandbox for several years. She loves going there. Because she was abandoned as a four week old kitten, she never learned to groom herself. Bandbox has done an exceptional job with an elderly and fragile cat. They shave her and clip her with a fairy tale lion cut. Thanks Bandbox!

I took my cat to Bandbox. When I picked up my cat she was so stressed out. I took her home to find that they used ELECTICAL TAPE on her paws! It took me days to get it off and she was distraught for days after. If I had known they wanted to cover her nails, I would have got little dog booties. I am disgusted they would use tape on furry little paws!
