The facility is very nice and spacious.
My dog needed a bit more guidance than many of the others (as he was older and not well socialized). The husband trainer didn't even bother to help me or spend a few extra minutes with my dog even when he could see I was struggling. The wife just sat around and told me that she didn't think my dog could ever be trained--that he had "Springer rage". She obviously had no idea what she was talking about but was very biased to the breed. At least 2 other dogs/owners withdrew from the same class as they didn't appreciate how their dog was treated by the "trainers".
If you have a sweet little pup that hasn't had a chance to develop ANY bad habits then the class may work for you.

Spring2012

Well after some weeks at DunnMillian Canine College TANA has passed the very basic puppy course.

I was surprised because out of the 6 dogs that attended regularly;

one was always first due to second time taking the course & owner trained with hotdogs;

a set of brothers, home from the dogpound were generally second & third.

We as a team never really did very well during the hr. lessons BUT with both husband & daughter practising at home it slowly sunk in.

I recognised that the bulk of my communication with TANA was non-verbal which hindered the process…but ultimately helped TANA become the silver medal winner on test night!!

We will return in the fall of 2013 to con’t her doggy education in a human pack.

Thanks Charlie!

Tana is 85lbs. 30 inches tall 2 yrs. old now & what a great dog. We socialized her well, but the foundation of puppy training is what allows her to be the good, calm, well trained animal she is:

our three rules: exercise, discipline, affection
her three rules: no pulling, no biting, no jumping

agree with bnsmith - training is good but owners total jerks - in my view arrogant, discriminatory towards bread of dog, and outright nasty - can't believe they say they love dogs

They run an excellent program and have decades of experience in teaching you the skills you need to train your dog. The socialization of your companion with others will last a lifetime. Our golden learned to be an excellent therapy dog for almost a decade.

The facility is nice, but the owners are not friendly at all. Very crass, rude and un-accomodating. I was warned about this before I went, but thought I'd give them a try.

Believe what you've heard, these people are assholes

We have trained 3 dogs at Dunnmillan collage and have had excellent results. The facility is kept very clean and is big enough to train your dog properly without being to close to the others. I would recommend anyone thinking of taking their pets to obedience training to take them to Dunnmillan.
