I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Pet Food and More, and I feel obligated to share what happened in hopes of preventing another pet owner from going through the same ordeal.
I visited the store looking for a new food for my dog and was recommended a fresh-kibble product by the store manager. I was given very clear and repeated instructions that the food simply needed to be refrigerated after opening and that it would be safe to use as long as it was kept cold. At no point did the manager mention that the product has a strict 7-day shelf life once opened.
On the 6th day of feeding this food—stored exactly as instructed—my dog suddenly became very sick with GI discomfort. Only after reading the package more closely did I find one small line stating the food must be used within 7 days. I called the manufacturer directly, and they confirmed that the product’s entire safe lifespan is 7 days, meaning I had unknowingly been feeding my dog food that was essentially at the end of its shelf life because I had relied on the incorrect information provided by the store.
I returned the food to the store and put my dog back on her original diet, but her symptoms got worse. She developed diarrhea with blood, and I had to take her to the vet the next day. The vet diagnosed her with GI inflammation consistent with eating spoiled or contaminated food.
I contacted the store and requested reimbursement for the veterinary bill, as the illness was directly caused by the incorrect and misleading storage instructions provided by their staff. Despite explaining everything clearly and providing documentation, I was met with little accountability or concern.
Edit: it is absolutely disgusting the reply the owner wrote to my review. I fed my senior dog the food on the six day… the day before it was absolutely at its worst feeding guidelines which the store manager never informed me of.
I have taken legal action, and will be proceeding with taking Pet Food N’ More to small claims court for their negligence.
I have filed with many agencies and have filed with the CRT.
If Pet Food N’ More was truly sorry they would take responsibility for suggesting this food with clear directions on storage and feeding which were completely incorrect and cause my dog to be extremely sick.

Everybody is kind and very helpful. My stepdad always picks it up for me and he doesn't know what to look for it. So I always call ahead and they always put everything aside to make his visit as smooth as possible.
The staff in here are absolutely amazing!!! So friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!! This is my new favourite place for pet supplies
For years we order pet food here for our cats. My partner placed order May 19 and I received a call went to my Voicemail that our order can be pick up anytime. I can to pick up the order today and seems that the staff are confused ( to many to mention) then I call my partner it was not the right size. Returned and need to wait for few days. I am good waiting for few days but my concern was staff are confused. There are 3 working this afternoon May 19 between 3:45-4pm and they are not in proper decorum. Need to find another place. Were are the old staff!
May 23rd- I picked up the remaining order. I was about to pay the food of my cat when the staff told me it was less 30% off due to the incident happened. I told her to remove the 30% off as I was offended. That is not the proper way to handle a feedback I told her to train the staff so they can improve customer service. Not to give compensation and forget what happened. I don’t complain or give feedback to get a compensation or freebies. That is very inappropriate move of management. No my partner and I are not like that. Please improve the service but not to insult me and give the 30% discount. Please have some training on customer service!

I want to thank Alexis so much for her kindness and compassion when I was visiting the store to pick up supplies for my cats. My dog passed away a few months ago and I'm triggered with grief in pet stores. She understood and let me share. Thank you so much Alexis - you really helped me that day
