Stephen Lewis, DNP, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Ochsner Health. Born on a military base in Germany, Stephen was raised in the New Orleans area and has spent most of his life on the West Bank. He earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He began his nursing career in 2017 in the critical care unit at University Medical Center, later transitioning to the surgery and recovery team at Touro Medical Center in 2020. In 2022, Stephen completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at LSU Health Sciences Center, graduating with honors and membership in the nationally recognized Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. That same year, he achieved board certification as a family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Stephen has over eight years of clinical experience and currently specializes in primary care. He is an active member of both the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and he serves as a board member for several healthcare organizations. His clinical interests include community health and men’s health, with a focus on delivering holistic, evidence-based care and advocating for his patients with compassion and dedication. He is deeply committed to fostering strong patient-provider relationships and approaches every patient interaction with the same care and respect he would offer a family member. Outside of medicine, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and pursuing his passion for cars. He lives by a personal philosophy centered on making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
