I'm surprised there aren't more negative reviews about this store. I can easily discount the 2 positive reviews as anomalies or planted here by the owners themselves. This store should not be permitted to sell cats and dogs. The cages are far too small to accommodate the number and or size of animals they sell, and the animals themselves are often sick or have health issues that come to light after the first vet visit. I purchased 2 cats from this store, more out of sheer concern for the animals' welfare. The one cat turned out to have a feline version of hemophilia, discovered after she was brought in for spaying. The vet informed me that this disorder is associated with in-breeding. She also is allergic to tartar, and has had several teeth removed because of this disorder. The second cat had a severe case of earmites, which required several treatments. Both cats seem to be doing fine now, but at considerable cost. The salesperson who sold me the second cat insisted the cat was "full Siamese", despite the cat's mottled points. She charged me $300+ for the cat, which I paid just to get this poor cat away from them. I have reported them to both the Better Business Bureau and SPCA. Corbrett's never responded to the BBB inquiry, and I never heard back from the SPCA. This place should be thoroughly investigated, and I'm shocked that they are allowed to continue selling sick cats and dogs. Please do not support this business if you have have love for animals.
I wish I could give negative stars on this store. They have absolutely no idea what they are talking about concerning their animals. Everything looked sick and mistreated. I went to their fish room and they had dead fish in the tanks that the other fish were eating. The employee that they've got was rude and i felt pressure into buying something. i didn't, but wow...they really want money. after reading all the other reviews, i think someone should investigate this store.
very rude employees
This store has some of the saddest puppies I have ever seen. I went in to look at some puppies and they refused to let the puppies out of the cage unless I agreed to buy one. I asked them how I was supposed to know if I wanted to buy the puppy without seeing it or interacting with it. They finally agreed to let me see a dog. as soon as the dog was out of the cage and on the floor we began to pet it. the dog cowered and peed all over itself in fear. It was matter and covered in pee. There was a small yorkie that was deathly ill in its crate and no one was attending to it. I asked to see a larger puppy that was kept in a cage way too small for such a big dog and the lady refused to take him out without me buying him because she said he was too hard to get in and out of the cage! maybe because the cage was way too small! this place is a disgrace and you might as well buy a dog and beat it yourself just for supporting these people.
THIS STORE IS AWESOME. NEVER EVER HAD A PROBLEM. THEY HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. VERY PROFESSIONAL STAFF AND BEAUTIFUL LOOKING STORES. THEY PUPPIES THERE ARE VERY CLEAN AND THEY ARE PAMPERED POOCH'S. THERE ANIMAL ROOM LOOKS LIKE ANIMAL HEAVEN. TOYS AND TREATS EVERY WHERE, LOTS OF PLAYING ROOM, MORE FOOD THEN ANY ANIMAL COULD EVER WANT. ITS JUST GREAT. EVERYONE SHOULD CHECK THEM OUT FOR THEM SELVES. THERE ARE 2 GREAT LOCATIONS ONE ON TECUMSEH ROAD EAST RIGHT NEXT TO RED LOBSTER AND ANOTHER ON WALKER RD RIGHT OFF EC ROW.

I bought a budgie yesterday from Corbret's Pet Depot. When I went in to look at them it felt like I was being rushed. It felt like I wasn't suposed to be in there, an employee had to "let me in" by moving a stack of rabbit cages that blocked the door. Because I felt rushed (and there were puppies barking non stop in that little room) I didn't really get to spend time in there and check over each bird. I bought a very beautiful budgie. They put him in a box and sent him home with me. When I got home and opened the box to grab the bird and put it in my cage I was expecting to be bit and it to put up a fight (like every healthy Budgie does), but I got none, the box also looked all moldy and gross inside. In any case as soon as the bird got in the cage, he hopped up on the first pirch fluffed up and started to look all drowsy. He hasn't moved since this morning (I got him yesterday), he hasn't preened, hasn't eaten, and oddly enough he let me pet him O.O and went on my finger (I placed him of a different pirch near the spray millet hoping he'll eat, but of course he hasn't) so either they lied about his history and my new friend is an old bird that has been hand fed and trained (they said he was between 6 - 12 weeks) or he is sick. I hope to God he's just stressed. But this isn't the worst of it; I called petsmart after trying to get ahold of Corbret's numerous times seeking answers to my bird's behaviour. They gave me all the info they could and were very nice about it, they told me that Corbret's should give me a return policy when I get ahold of them, and that hopefully my bird is stressed but could very well be ill. The helpful employee told me to wait until tuseday before proceeding with any "freaking out" about my bird and to give Corbret's a call only if the bird still seems ill. Still concerned and curious as to the return policy (Petsmart is 14 days dead or alive) I called Corbret's. The man was very rude. I merely asked what they could do for me if they happened to give me a sick bird, I told him that I wasn't sure if it was stress or if he's sick. Without even asking what was wrong with it he told me that were was nothing wrong with their Budgies. I said polietly okay then maybee he's stressed, but if hypothetically he's still acting sick or if I wake up one morning with him dead at the bottom of the cage, do I bring him in with the recipte? He said in a very rude, harsh voice "Hypothetically HE WON'T" and hung up the phone. Very rude and veerrryy unhelpful, I'm glad we have Petsmart to fall back on though, it was very nice that they gave me advice even though I didn't buy my Budgie from them. Well I hope Jazz (that's his name) begins feeling better soon and my worst nightmare of waking up with him dead doesn't come true. But I warn you all now, to avoid the heartbreak of a sick or dead pet, avoid buying from Corbret's. I only did because they had more of a selection of colors (so I thought) because the Petsmart I went to had what I felt to be a very limited selection, but when I called the other Petsmart to get info on my bird (the one on walker doesn't have it's number in my phone book) the employee asked what color my bird was and the markings, he told me they have one very similar. Now I'm attached to my little Jazz and I certainly don't want to bring him back, but if he's not better I might have to go back to Corbret's and face the extremely rude and unhelpful persons again, they probably won't refund me, I don't want to put my poor Budgie back in that moldy box to bring back either, I HOPE he get's better. *Fingers crossed*
The entire store smelled like a gerbil's cage which hadn't been cleaned for generations.
Pet viewing area had incredibly stinky and STICKY floors. Animals were smelly and dirty. Cages were urine-soaked. Too many animals. I've been in cleaner barns.
Staff member tried to sell me something even though it was not what I asked for. Store was cluttered, overstocked and dark. Inventory was dusty. Displays were sometimes dangerously rickety. Staff not very friendly.
Purchase supplies at large, clean chain pet supply stores and adopt animals from Humane Society. Do yourself a favour.
Gave it a half-star because that's the lowest the site would allow. That was being generous.
