We were forced to put my mother in this home by WRHA against out will as the supportive housing unit she was in kicked her out after she was attacked during dinner and we as a family filed complaints.
My Mother walked into this nursing home a healthy woman but with moderate Alzheimer's, weighting 141 lbs and now 60 days later she is in palliative care. 29 days after arriving she was found unconscious on the floor in her bathroom. They were not monitoring her that she was in a terrible depression ( I warmed WRHA that this was what was going to happen to her if she was thrown in there). Even the EMT asked the staff how a woman "in care" could end up in this condition. The excuse was they were understaffed because of the Christmas holiday - ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! For $1946. a month my Mother should have been cared for. She spent almost all of January in the hospital refusing to eat from depression and as of today is only 114 lbs. The staff are very nice people but the building is grossly understaffed and the building needs a complete remodel, it's old and worn out. I do have to say it is very clean but that doesn't help my Mother. We are heartbroken over the fact we were bullied into this situation.
