Staump Music School

Staump came highly recommended from a dear friend of ours. I pass on that high recommendation from our experience to anyone who is thinking of music lessons. Very professional staff and our son learned a lot in a short time. We went for group piano lessons. It was nice to have the option of group or individual lessons.

I’ve been going to Staump Music School in Santee for years, and it’s been an amazing experience! Tim and Wes are incredible teachers—super talented, patient, and great with students of all ages. The whole school has a fun, welcoming, and family-friendly vibe that makes learning music exciting and enjoyable. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to take your skills to the next level, I highly recommend Staump for quality music lessons in East County!

My daughter has been taking drum lessons at STAUMP Music School in Santee for several months and absolutely loves it. The staff is passionate, patient, and clearly takes pride in helping students grow. It's been a fantastic experience.

Mr. Wes is the best!! We love Staump Music, and are so grateful for the incredible experience they craft for students. The entire staff is wonderfully kind and fun, they really know how to cultivate a love of music in young kids. The classes are different from other youth music schools, in a good way - no pressure, always fun, and incredible skill building at the same time. My son looks forward to Rock Band every week, and Mr. Wes has such a knack for building up kids confidence and skill sets. 🫶

We've had a wonderful experience at Staump Music School! My daughter has been taking vocal lessons, and her teacher Jessica has been absolutely amazing. Jessica is not only talented and knowledgeable, but also incredibly patient and encouraging. She’s helped my daughter grow in both skill and confidence, and most importantly, has made learning music something my daughter truly looks forward to each week. The environment at Staump is welcoming and supportive, and we couldn’t be happier with the progress we've seen. Highly recommend!

My son has been going to Mr Wes and Ms Erin for over a year and has been the happiest kid ever! Not only has he learned the guitar, but his confidence has built up and the ENTIRE staff ant Staump is amazing! They always step out to greet parents and offer insight on how the kids are doing and the demeanor in my student SHOWS the amount of effort and support the staff puts into the lessons and just the kids in general! Love them, would recommend for all ages!

We’ve had Tim Staump as an instructor for 11 years! My son grew up with Tim, and still loves attending lessons with Tim. Tim taught him how to read music, and gave him the ability to play all types of music. We absolutely love Staump
Music School so much, and we are so grateful for the mentorship provided by Tim. We can’t recommend this school enough! We’ve worked with many of the other teachers as well for different instruments and voice, and all are incredible. Tim does a great job selecting his staff, everyone is encouraging and creates a safe space to grow in music! We would give stars infinity to be honest as it’s one of the best investments we’ve made for our son!

My daughter absolutely loves the 7 PM rock class on Thursdays. She’s been learning guitar and has also been taught ukulele and the bass. The focus on contemporary songs keeps her excited and motivated to practice. Her teacher, Mr. Wes, is incredibly encouraging and has built a great connection with all the kids. It’s been amazing to watch her grow musically and gain confidence each week. Highly recommend!

We love Staump Music School! Tim Staump and his amazing staff have curated a safe, fun and positive learning environment for our children to grow creatively. Music has been a therapeutic outlet for our daughter specifically and we are so happen her passion is being fostered through others who care to see her learn.

3 years later, we are still here and still love this studio!

Mr. Wes has done a great job with a class full of littles trying to learn new instruments. Never an easy task. Mr. Tim has been a great one on one drumming instructor for both my boys. They also worked with my oldest when he needed more challenging piano parts. We have only been there for about 6 months, but I also love all the opportunities they give the kids to get used to performing publicly. It’s a good development program because it’s important for musicians to learn how to hear they other instruments they are performing with and get used to working together for the best sound. I also LOVE how communicative they are! Easy to reach via text message and they send text reminders. We have an insane work and family schedule so this is a giant blessing.

Miss Erin is the BEST for so many reasons!!! My daughter looks forward to her guitar lessons because Miss Erin gives her the confidence she needs to grow. She is not only an amazing instructor (how many instruments does she play?!?!) but truly an incredible human! We are so happy we found her because she is a GEM!

We had a wonderful experience with piano lessons. My son not only enjoyed the lessons but also learned a lot from them. Erin was incredibly helpful and flexible, always responding quickly to my emails and addressing any concerns or questions we had. Our son started taking drum lessons at Staump Music School when he was 4 years old. Now at age 11, he has learned to play a wide variety of musical instruments including the electric guitar, bass, keyboard and ukulele. His teacher, Mr. Wes, is not only knowledgable but very patient and encouraging with his students. He's always looking to get students more involved with performances/concerts.

Our son has also been given the opportunity to jam with KidzRock, play live onstage and has even had a private student recording session during his time at Staump. Students are given complete freedom in exploring their musical interests with a variety of instruments.

Staump Music School is a true gem in the East County community. The teachers are all AMAZING and we are impressed on how much they give back to the their community.
