We had a poured concrete sidewalk installed and our driveway paved by Nortown Paving & Construction. Both teams, (concrete & asphalt), were extremely knowledgeable, skillful, highly efficient and courteous. All of our questions were thoughtfully answered and sound advice was provided with regards to optimum maintenance of both projects. All of this was done in a timely manner at the estimated cost. We had Nortown Paving do our driveway back in 2012. Marc met with my husband Glenn to discuss the requirements of the job and what we would like to accomplish in terms of slopping, etc. The job was completed to our satisfaction. Sometime in June of 2013 (by this time the warranty of 1 year had expired) I noticed that at the end of the house where it meets the driveway that that area looked a bit sunken - which I brought to my husband's attention. I immediately called Nortown Paving to convey my concerns and to inquire what could be done bearing in mind that the warranty had recently expired. Marc called back and we spoke about my concerns. Marc took it upon himself while we were both at work to come to our house and check for himself to see what I was describing. Low and behold, when I came home one evening I noticed that the driveway sinking had been fixed - Marc called me at work and told me that he went out took a look and fixed the problem, without any cost to us. And yes, it was fixed to my satisfaction and so far there has been no further problem.

I really appreciated Marc's timely concern and for him to have taken the time to physically go to our place while we were at work to attend to our concerns. This for me shows that Nortown Paving does take their work seriously and are open to resolving their customers concerns even though the warranty had expired. Bravo Marc - thanks very much for your professional attitude and good work ethic. I was very pleased and very, very thankful that Marc took the time to go to our house to see what he could do to resolve the problem and to make me a happy and satisfied customer.

Hello, I hired Nortown Paving to pave my driveway in May 2012. Less than 2 months later my driveway was full of cracks ranging as long as 7 feet in length. They didn't put enough asphalt down which resulted in these damages. These cracks are spreading daily (width and length wise). I contacted Mr Sam Volante (owner of Nortown). I explained this problem and asked him to replace this damaged area as i believe that is only fair. Mr Volante clearly told me he will not replace this damaged area. Mr Volante was extremely rude and arrogant during our conversation. I have never experienced such poor customer service and disregard for customer satisfaction by anyone in the service industry. I paid $3500 for this job and Mr Volante is only concerned with receiving this money and will not stand up for his company and the product he delivers. I filed a complaint with BBB and am in the process of getting my lawyer involved to bring this matter to the court system. I believe it is only fair that i paid for a product and service that should be to my satisfaction and Nortown failed to deliver on both categories. I would NOT recommend this company or its product to anyone as Mr Volante has no skills in customer service, has no concern for his customers and their complaints and will not address any problems with the workmanship. Nortown Paving & Construction Inc. recently completed the paving of our driveway and walkway. The level of knowledge, work delivery, and commitment to schedule was outstanding and second to none. Mr. Volante, the proprietor, was very courteous and professional in all aspects of the project. The workmanship and commitment to doing the job properly show very well, and at a good value.

Having a home that is over 40 years old, it was time for the final stage of the outside work. My husband and I have always maintained the grounds around the house, but after all these years, the property needed to be re-graded and frankly, needed to be completely renovated. In addition, the driveway was about 5 years past its lifetime and to be honest, it was rather embarrassing. We were hesitant, not knowing which contractors to call for estimates and when it came time to choose one, we wondered if we would be happy with the work and the cost involved. We did some research into various contractors and called three to provide us with ideas and estimates. It was not difficult to see that Mark Volante of Nortown Paving offered a more personal approach with some fantastic ideas and competitive pricing. Prior to the work being started and due to the deterioration of the natural gas lines and sewer issues in our area, we had many unexpected obstacles to overcome before Nortown could begin their work. Mark worked with us through all these issues and even after Nortown began their work, the gas company needed to replace the underground lines throughout our entire neighbourhood, informing us only two weeks prior to their start date. Nortown worked patiently with us, ensuring all the “neighbourhood” work was finished prior to completing our project. We had the driveway paved, outlined by interlocking stone down both sides. The stone work extended up to the front door, right to the property line and stretching to the back of the house. The end result was amazing – the workmanship superior and the “WOW” factor is far more that we hoped for. Mark informed us from Day 1 that we would be very impressed with Nortown Paving but we are far more than impressed. The cost of the project was about mid-range of the estimates we received, leading us to feel that we got far more than our money’s worth. We referred Nortown to a neighbour, who is equally impressed with the work done by Nortown on their property and have recently referred a family member. From first contact (reply to my email for an estimate) to the completed project, our experience with Nortown has been extraordinary. We had a concrete walkway and driveway curb designed , our driveway paved and ridgestone steps to the side door installed. Marc had great ideas and he was always professional . The cost was very reasonable, communication was excellent, and the work was completed in a timely manner. Great value for the dollar. The quality of workmanship was very impressive as were all the representatives of the company. If I could upload photos to this site, you would see that Nortown's work has dramatically improved our "curb appeal" . I would absolutely recommend Nortown paving.... and already have.

The Nortown job at my home was not what I expected.I couldn't believe the quality of the work as it was well above what I thought I was getting.Their professionally done walk ways and new drive way at my home certainly improved not only the look but the value of the property. We had an aging asphalt driveway and a cracked concrete walkway that needed to be replaced. I used their web site (www.nortownpaving.com) to ask for a quote for plain concrete and driveway replacement.. We received an email response followed by a phone call to set-up an appointment. Rocco came out on the weekend to price the job.

A few days before the job was planned to start, we contacted Rocco about changing to coloured and stamped concrete. Rocco and Sam came out on the weekend and we were reviewed options and agreed on the revised price.

They started the job at 7am Monday with a crew of 4 guys, including Rocco. By noon they had all of the concrete and asphalt removed and forms in place for the curbs and steps. The curbs and steps were poured and stamped by the end of the first day.

The next morning, the crew returned again at 7am, removed the form for the prior day, setup the new forms for the walkway and raised patio and concrete poured and stamped by the end of the second day.

The third day arrived shortly after 7am, removed all of the forms, power washed the concrete.

At the end of each day, the job site was left clean and tidy.

Due to lots of rain we had to wait for the driveway to be paved. Marc and his crew arrived at 7am, had the paving done by mid morning and left us a handout of do's and don'ts for newly pave driveways.

Today, Rocco returned with Marc to do some final review and touch-up and then sealed the concrete.

All in all, I was very pleased with the entire process and Rocco's and Marc's positive customer service attitude.

I highly recommend Nortown to anyone looking for Concrete or Asphalt work.
