Pattie's Party Palace

I have been in there a few times, and still haven't seen the adult section, which will lead to a trip back there I am sure. I am trying to get a hold of a bubble machine. They told me how long it would take to arrive (roughly) and were more then willing to take a name and number. I have yet to go in, and feel like I wasn't supposed to be there, or not to take my time and browse. They don't care if you go in there and don't have a clue. For that, I thank them.
They lost half a star for not having what I wanted when I went in there, but that is due to my being grumpy, and hey, no one is perfect. ;)

I found the staff to be very helpful and extremely polite. My kids love this store. We can't drive by without them asking to go in. It's one of the few stores that doesn't treat kids like thieves. The staff actually know what they are talking about and do what they can to help. Yes the adult section took me by surprise, but it wasn't until my third trip in, that I actually noticed it. They treat you like a person, not just a walking atm.

I found the owner to not be helpful at all let alone any of the staff each time that I have gone in to this store. Way too much clutter. They never got back to me when I needed items for my wedding. I went out of town for what I had to have. I wish they had things online that way I wouldn't have to go all the way to this store, only to find that they didn't have something I needed and be dissapointed again. They really shouldn't have 'adult' related items in a party shop that is for all ages. Not appropriate if you ask me.

Patties Party Palace in Nanaimo is a great place for special effects makeup and costumes. While some parts are innapropriate for children, it is an all around good family place. The staff is very polite and helpful, and Patty, the owner, is very knowledgible in the Special Effects Makeup Department. I would give this store a 4.5 out of 5.0 because it is not very appropriate sometimes.
