Over the last 25 years MacKay Painters have painted my house twice. Quality of service and pricing were excellant.
However, I wanted the house painted again last year (2010). I contacted them in the Spring and someone arrived and gave me an estimate. Based on this I decided to go ahead with the job. From there it was all downhill. Nothing happened and I had to phone them on several occasions to find out was going on. Each time I was told that the delays were due to the weather. The summer came and went and nothing was done but I was told I was at the top of the list for 2011. Come May no word had been received and I was obliged to phone again. I got the same old runaround - bad weather was delaying work. At this stage having wasted a year I decided to look elsewhere.
I should emphasise that at no time during the 12 months did anyone from the company have the good manners to phone me even once and apologize
I should also mention that, based on my earlier good experiences, I had recommended MacKay to friends of mine and they got exactly the same treatment - nothing was ever done.
