Vancouvers Best Painters, Vancouver Reviews (1)
Contacted Rick Anderson (Directer/Owner) to obtain a quote for repainting our outdated kitchen cabinets. He gave me a price, which I was a little uncomfortable with, so I asked him to come by our home to take a look at the job & then confirm pricing. Rick was so busy talking about his '28 years' experience, that he didn't listen to me, so when he arrived at our home, there was a discrepency in the number of cabinets that needed painting. We resolved that issue, and we (my husband, mother and I) decided to use his services. The agreement was that Rick would come to our home for two days (tuesday and wednesday) to do the onsite painting & cabinets would be returned to us on Saturday.
Rick did come on Tuesday, primed the cabinets, and advised my mother (who was in town visiting) that he wouldn't be able to make it on Wednesday because his child was sick, but would return on Thursday. Well, Rick thought it was appropriate to send text messages to our home phone # in the middle of the night (calls started at 1230 & finished at 0230) apparently advising us that he would not be able to come on Thursday. I sent Rick an email early Thurday morning, letting him know that I didn't think the middle of the night texting was considerate and he replied in a very negative and threatning manner. My mom also called him to confirm when he would be coming back, and he proceeded to yell, swear, and disrespect me to my mom, threatening her verbally and threatened to hold our cabinets 'hostage'.
I opted to not reply to the email, and Rick did send one of his painters (Iman - who was great BTW) to come and do the onsite painting.
Well, today was the day we were to get our cabinetry back. Rick sent his painter Iman with 1/2 of the cabinets, and he literally held the other half of the cabinets hostage, in his truck, parked down the road until he had the money in hand.
I can honestly say that I have never been treated in such an unprofessional manner by someone who claims to be a professional. My husband and I are both hard workers, and honest people, so to be treated in this way was truly shocking.
I hope no one ever deals with this company & especially Rick Anderson, as no one deserves this type of treatment.

Dear Mrs Tonya:
As we are always looking for ways to improve we thank you for your input. I thought it important to address your concerns, point by point. 1) We didn't actually make "phone calls to your home in the middle of the night". We text you a few times to let you know what the schedule would be the following day. 2) "threatening emails and conversations" Its true that there was a personality conflict due to a ton of miscommunication. We apologize if for some reason this was contrued as "threatening". We here at Vancouver's Best Painters are definately passionate about what we do. Sometimes that passion can seem a bit unbridled. 3) "held half of cabinets hostage" I know that we were doing some touch ups on three of them, right up to the last second. The last of the bunch in fact got delivered later than the majority of them. This seems to have inconvenienced you. For that we apologize. 4)"BBB rating of F makes sense" Actually, we have a rating of "D"....which is not stellar but its not a failure. The one complaint we ever received was for crushing a flower with one of our booms during a commercial job. The customer filed a complaint and we forgot to respond to it, thereby receiving a "D" rating. When we found out about the complaint I personally delivered a dozen roses to this lady and apologized for having plowed over one of her flowers. Best Regards Rick Anderson Manager: Day to Day Operations
