Wilson's The Paint Store

It all started in the late winter of 1975 when Doug Wilson, who had been a sales representative for a wallpaper manufacturer for many years decided that it was time to be his own boss. In the spring of 1976 Doug & Marian leased a unit in the Seagram Plaza opening Wilson's Paint & Wallpaper on May 21st of that year. The store opened with a full line of Benjamin Moore Paint and a huge inventory of wallpaper, a very popular item at the time. The store remained at that location for 10 years at which time the Wilson's moved the business to 18 John Street just a few feet from the original location.
