We purchased a dishwasher from Quan's and picked it up at their warehouse. We unwrapped the packaging and found significant damage - a very large dent in the back pushing through outside to inside - making it unusable. The damage was so significant, it looked as if it was dropped from a forklift.

Within minutes we contacted Wally Quan to request an exchange. He refused to accept liability for selling a damaged product. Plain and simple - they have absolutely no customer service or accountability. They are a dishonest and shady business.

We will be filing a complaint and by the looks of it, many others should too. Here is the link with info on how to do this:

Terrible customer service. They are rude on the phone. They say they will look into the order, but they don't and won't call back. Their only tracking system is through your paper invoice. So, you have to repeat your case every time you call, and since they don't follow through, you're repeating yourself everyday.

I will never buy anything from this company again. None of the people who work there are helpful.

This is in response to elder abuse,
I actually sold the fridge to his mother and she had picked the GE fridge which is on the invoice we supplied her. When the fridge showed up she called and said we had made a mistake and began to be very rude with one of our employees calling us basically every name in the book. Then her son called again also saying some very rude and brutal words to our staff. After all the name calling and finger pointing we still exchanged the fridge at no extra charge and tried to make our customer happy and after doing so the son still continues to write horrific reviews bad mouthing our company even though Quan Appliances went out of our way to cover the mix up.
I'm not sure why anyone in their right mind would write such awful words to trash a company that has taken care of their needs in everyway possible.

My mother bought a fridge from the Peterborough store and had a horrific experience. It is on the verge of being classified as elder abuse .

She purchased a NEW Samsung Fridge and they delivered a GE Fridge floor model fridge without informing her of the change. When she called to discuss this the staff tried to convince her the one she wanted would not fit and the GE was a better fridge. This is only a small excerpt of the total experience of lies and rudeness.

I made an attempt to contact the owner to discuss this situation and get it rectified and I did not get any contact or concern.

If you think this is a better retailer that a big box store think again. If you want to be scammed or abused then this is the store for you .

I bought a Whirlpool Fridge from Quan's Oshawa, Ontario and was told to wait at least two hours before plugging it in and after two hours I started the brand new fridge to hear a high pitched whining noise from the compressor. I went to the store to ask for an exchange as this was a defective fridge from the get go and was told no refunds or exchanges and that I would have to deal with Whirlpool but I said I bought the appliance from Quan's not Whirlpool. Whirlpool sent out a service technician and he stood there without looking at the fridge and said this noise is normal. We paid for an independent service technician to look at the fridge and he said the windings were defective in the compressor and said a new compressor was the solution and this would cost more than the fridge. I went back to Whirlpool's customer service with this information and I am still waiting for their technician but the whole family is experiencing headaches from the noisey compressor. Run not walk from Quan's any savings are not worth the aggravation!

Quan's is good on price but their service is pretty substandard. With no online POS system, they can only search by invoice number, go figure. The lady who answered my phone in the Markham store actually hung up on me once because, obviously, she has a sale to attend to. Not sure why such a successful chain will not invest in a better system and train the customer service better.

I actually ordered my appliances beginning of December and was told that they will arrive the second week... guess what, it was back ordered and dont know when it will be available. Why did i have a feeling that I am being lied to?

I have bought from Quan's and their prices are better than sale prices at Sears etc. you just have to know what you are buying . I have had no problems with them.

I have had two dealings with this store and both have been negative. Once you pay the bill what little customer service there was will never be see or heard of again.

Highly recommend Tasco as they have better selection, equal or better then pricing, and superior customer service should you require it.

Strong recommend you don't give Quan;s any consideration

They once again did not show up with my appliances. 2nd time! Then when asked they said "what appliances"? Because they are too cheap to get a computer for their p.o.s they are beyond disorganised. Wallace Quan has no idea how to treat customers. I will never step foot in any of his stores agin.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Quan's TV & Appliance. We purchased all of our major appliance from them. They even made a mistake and gave us an upgraded stainless steel interior dishwasher. By far the cheapest too!

Bought a GE Fridge from Quans, after the fridge was delivered
we had a defect. I phoned Quans and was told that it wasnt there problem and to phone GE. The Fridge was less then 24 hours old and now have to wait for service to call me back in 48 hours to set up appointment.
Quans expect you to pay cash or certified cheque on delivery but when it comes to having a defect with your appliance there
customer service ends as soon as you walk out the door with the purchase.
Be careful when purchasing they have a no money back guarantee
and you end up with a defective appliance that you have to contend with on your own.
You are better off going to Sears at least you have guarantee
if it is defective you can return it no questions asked.

Bought a stove at Quan's and had problems within the first 2 weeks. I was told to unplug it and plug it back in, which was a temporary fix. A week later the electronic display completely shut down and I lost all use of the oven. I called the store again, and without any apology or concern, they just gave me a number for their repair centre.

Now I have to wait two more weeks for a replacement circuit board...I've had it for a month and have been able to use it twice!

DO NOT SHOP HERE - They love to get your money and then you're on your own when you have problems with their crap

We bought a washer, dryer, stove & fridge. We comapred prices to Sears - Quan was better. WE checked Cumsomer Reports - they had the products we wanted.
The guy we spoke with was straight forward, knowledgeable and knew what everyone else was charging for the same products, and he knew he had the market beat.

If you've done the research and are ready to buy, I'd suggest Quan.
We're going to be buying a dishwasher, and it's going to be at Quan.

Yes they know there products but make sure you ask about RETURNS. THERE IS NO MONEY BACK IF YOU RECEIVE A PRODUCT THAT IS FAULTY. We bought a fridge and had them deliver it after delivery we set everything up and there was a defect in it. NOW THE PRODUCT IS LESS THEN 24 HOURS NEW AND WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE MANUFACTURER. There Policy is that once it is out the door and in your home and you paid by certified cheque they wash there hands of it.
Sears might be more expensive but you can wheel and deal to get the price down and if they bring the product and it is defected, NO QUESTIONS ASKED THEY WILL TAKE IT BACK WITH A EXCHANGE OR MONEY BACK.

BEWARE WHEN BUYING AT QUAN'S APPLIANCES YOU MIGHT GET LUCKY AND IF YOU DON'T THEN YOU HAVE A APPLIANCE THAT IS DEFECTED AND NOW YOU HAVE TO WAIT 48 FOR SERVICE TO RETURN YOUR CALL TO MAKE A APPOINTMENT AND THEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 2 TO 3 WEEKS JUST TO GET THE PRODUCT FIXED.

Dealt with this company called " Quan TV Appliances " and needed to write and vent to help anyone planning to buy appliances for their home.

Just a brutal experience for my family. They put the wrong item(stove) on my invoice and then when they delivered the wrong stove, they advised I had to pay more as the new one had some extra features. This was after waiting 2 weeks...oh well....extra money was paid.

After no apology was given and despite a severely rude staff at the store and on the phone, new stove finally delivered.

Another hitch, the stove didn't have any of the extra features as were promised...not only that but the stove had a broken peg on the bottom. Called the company and they told me that they, "have no idea what you are talking about" and that I should never have accepted the stove...ouch...

feeling totally mislead, I figured no point in continuing this charade...but hoping this post will help someone learn from my mistake.

I feel so ripped off, but this letter has made me feel better.

best of luck.
