I just wanted to post something about my favourite Optical store. I have been a client now for about 12 years and without fail, I am consistently impressed with the service and range of choices that are there. I would, and do, recommend anyone needing optical assistance to go and see the ladies at Jamiesons in Manulife Place.

The opticians and staff are fantastic! I am so happy with my new look and I've never had such clear vision. The expertise and service is top notch! I will definitely be back and recommend Jamiesons to all my family and friends.

This store has the most arrogant and most condescending (all woman) sales women I ever met, and it is a very, very overpriced and over rated store. Biggest rip-off ever. No warranties - nothing. No quality customer service. They take your money and pass their faults. (But what can you expect from a pompous owner who is only concerned about her hair!) It's better to buy the same product on amazon for 2/3's the price and save the grief and avoid their rudeness!! I give them one star and that's only because of the location, but they'll end up closing because the boom is over (which is one benefit of the bust - it "weeds" the garden!).

Since my company now offers some optical coverage, I decided to splurge and get myself some funky glasses that would show my personality. Jamieson's delivered the goods and not one day goes by where I don't receive a few compliments on my eye wear and I've had them over a year now. I should be their sales rep! Going in today to check out what they may have for my husband and will later drag him down with me. Rock and roll ladies. You know your stuff and it's all original, not what everyone else has on their face. I'm a fan of Jamieson's!!!

The ladies at Jamiesons are top notch in their craft !, they have very unique eyewear , their customer service is superb , I would full recommend them .

I have been dealing with Jamiesons for decades, and bar none, the quality, customer service and follow up are all impeccable. Sophie makes you feel individualized and steers you in a direction that is best for you. Her opinions are so greatly appreciated and I disagree with some of the other negative reviews. Personally, some people are just hard to please and no matter what, are negative in every aspect of their lives. Sophie Hand picks the unique selections in Europe!

I just purchased my 5th pair of glasses from Jamieson's. From day one, I knew that this was the place to return to many times over.

Because i like glasses that are individualized and require extra care in selecting the quality and thickness of lenses, i have continued to go back to Jamieson's. If there has ever been a problem, the problem was tended to immediately . They know what suits you best not only for color but most importantly the shape and whether or not the frame will handle the lens thickness. They have willingly accepted the responsibility of correcting any problems with the initial fitting and any subsequent adjustments to the wear that glasses go through every day. Those visits are few and far between.

I have purchased many pairs of glasses at Jamieson's Opticians over the past twenty years. I have continued to do so only because the fitting, service and advice have been top notch. They have a unique selection of frames , and because I must wear glasses full time and have a strong prescription, I appreciate the time, care and advice on the frames most suitable for my situation. I get many compliments on my glasses and have been asked even by strangers where I get my glasses. Jamieson's! Any adjustments or problems that have arisen have always been dealt with politely, quickly, and in a businesslike manner. Both my adult children now use Jamieson's as their optician too.

I'm not a high maintenance customer. However, I don't like at all being treated the way I was. The salesperson was rude, stubborn and difficult to deal with from the start. I recommend that they treat people, all people, with respect and perhaps garner some knowledge of their merchandise.

Here is what happened:
I was walking by this nice looking store when a pair of great Zeiss goggles (the interchangeable model) caught my eye. I went in and inquired and the salesperson who sat me down and handed me a completely different pair of goggles (zeiss racers). I wasn't too impressed by these goggles and left the store to confirm the goggles in the window were different. I went back in and let the salesperson know that the goggles in the window were different and I would like to see them. She assured me they were the same. They definitely were not so I asked her to pull them out of the display. She stubbornly refused telling me she knows what was in the display as she put them there and that they were the same goggles only a different colour (rather humorously they were actually both white!). I persisted and she finally relented. When she pulled them out she said "See! Just a different size". I pointed out the different frame, lens and way the band attached to the frame. The differences couldn't have been more apparent but at this point she was angry and it was time to leave.

I tried to get a frame here. The woman who showed me frames (presumably the owner) would not defer to my selections. She kept insisting the frames I selected were not right for me because of the thickness of my lenses. In my experience (>35 years of wearing eyeglasses) I have never had my selection of frames questioned. She steadfastly refused to accept my choices, and tried her best to impose her own single selection of frame, which I hated. It's a matter of taste, I suppose, but also, customer service, which is sorely lacking here. She asked me to leave after failing to convince me to go with her selection of frames. Her extreme arrogance and rudeness really were shocking. I then went to Eye Care Group down the street on Jasper and 104th. There, the wonderful salesperson, named Gabrielle, spent 40 mins. with me, showing me all the frames that I had selected among their very extensive collection, and helping me to narrow down the frame that best accommodated my taste and also the lenses that were to be made to fit. She was patient and very knowledgeable. In the end, I got the best frame I had ever purchased, from among 4 frames that I had shortlisted there, with transition and HD lenses to boot. What a contrast. I would never recommend Jamieson's to my colleagues and friends.
