My father, Terry Carruthers, received excellent care at Jackman Manor for the close to ten years that he lived there. The staff were kind and considerate and Dad felt truly at home there.

My mother has been the in Country Lane for almost 4years now. Let me tell you I see her at various times of the day and have yet to see let lone witnesses any mistreated elders. If she falls or sick ,I get a call all the time.
As for the staff they are awesome ,always kind. I also know personally a few employees there and they seem to all enjoy their jobs. The chefs and kitchen staff are very good and ensure proper nutrition for all.
I am sorry for those that say it is the worst place on earth but honestly I could take you to moms first place. I am sure you will get good and bad days anywhere.

My husband has only been in Jackman Manor for six weeks and I am beyond pleased. Its all about the loving ,caring ,staff...Yes the care workers and nurses are pushed to their limits but they do a wonderful job and work extremely hard,I go almost daily and I have witnessed some very touching moments like putting lipstick on a dear old lady after lunch, and painting their nails,I hear they even give them a kiss goodnight if they want it.Thank You for caring for my loved one.......

My father has been in Country Lane for two years and the staff go out of their way to make him feel safe and comfortable. As with any dementia issues they are very individual and if a resident absolutely refuses care that refusal is respected. However staff and families work together for the best possible outcomes. I know Dad is safe and secure. With recent government cuts in funding they are doing more with less and that hurts the hands on abilities.

I gave the four stars because of the governmental issues that the funding cuts have caused not because of the environment.

As are a lot of residential facilities, the food is not the best. However, the staff is very good seeing as there are not enough of them, building always clean and smelling fresh.

My mother lived there for several years . She was always treated with care and respect. The majority of the staff was caring, pleasant and considerate. She had her own room, as all the residents there do, which allowed her own private space , dignity and retreat if escape from the activities was desired. The quality of food has continued to improve over the years. I have had lunch or dinner there many times and have never been disappointed. The building is older but kept in immaculate condition and is spotless. The management team are very dedicated and are there for a reason. I would not hesitate to recommend this as a care facility for your family

I would never want a loved one to be in the care of Jackman Manor. This non-care home is sad. The residents are not treated very nicely. The staff are some of the most evil people I have ever met in my life. I guess the helpless elderly deserve to be punished in the end of their life, by getting to be in a prison like setting. I am proud to say I quit working there after one month, to find work in a care home that run properly. Some care homes have got the right idea, Jackman Manor isn't one of them. Please take this info to heart, I really wish to make the truth known.

The building is 25 years old and is need of major ceiling maintainence, the ceiling is leaking in many different places through out the building. The residents do not get treated nicely, care-aids use the washroom and do not wash there hands afterwords. I have seen rough handling of the residents as well. Many of them get completely ignored, and do not get changed on a needed basis. During feeding when there should be nurses and care-aids around there is often no one around, to ensure no one chokes. Dietbetics are getting the wrong food. Basically I definately would not put my parents there or allow any one I know to have there parents live there..
