It all started in March when I was being pro-active and ordered new tires for my wheels, they told me three to four weeks. End of April and I had not heard anything, I went to the store and they said they were back ordered. When I asked when they were going to tell me this, they shrugged, so I order a set of Dunlops. Another two week go by and the tires showed up. I took my wheels in for the new tires and one spoke on the back tire was missing, so we had to wait another two and half weeks for that part to show up. Once everything was done they called for me to pick up. I took the wheels over to my brothers (former motorcycle instructor) to install the wheels on my bike. I drove it home and the bike was riding horrible. Once I got home I inspected the front wheel and it was bent (like a potato chip). I took it back to Excalibur and asked how they bent the wheel and how did it get out of their shop, since it was supposed to have been balanced (which costs more). They couldn't give me an answer but stated that I could have been driving years with a bent rim and never known about it. I called BS and they stated they would try to straighten it out. Another week went by, got the tire back and it is no longer a "potato chip" but has a significant wobble, especially at high speeds. I went back to talk to the manager, and he but the whole blame on me and stated that they do thousands of wheels a year and it was just mine that they bent. I reminded him how bent it was when it originally left his shop, which he couldn't explain. But he said because of the age of the bike, that I was driving it on bent wheel and didn't notice, I called BS, and stated that there was no way anyone could have been driving on that wheel without noticing. This bike is a 1996 Yamaha XT350 enduro, purchased with 7000 km and now has just over 12000 km which I purchased off my brother and has been my daily driver for the past five summers. Highway millage each way to work 20-25 km a day. I do the occasional dirt road and never do jumps.
After the manager called me an A-hole, I tried to do a chargeback on my mastercard, but mastercard said it was he said/she said. Small claims court will cost Thousands. I am now forced to look for a proper rim for my bike which will cost a few hundred dollars.
