Alvin Lee Day, MD, FACP, CCD is the medical director of the Bone Health Clinic located within Senior Specialty Care. His clinical focus is on osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases, and he sees adult patients of any age. Day received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, completed his residency in internal medicine at Prisma Health, also in Columbia, and completed a fellowship in rheumatology at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Day is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology, with additional certifications in musculoskeletal ultrasound and clinical bone densitometry. His academic interests include general rheumatology, musculoskeletal ultrasound, osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease, quality bone densitometry and medical education. He is currently a committee chair in the International Society of Clinical Densitometry and a metabolic bone disease subject area expert for the American College of Rheumatology Continuing Assessment Review Evaluation program.
