I bought a mattress from this company and I asked the salesmen should I have a issue how the warranty process work. He just told me that you just call and customer service will exchange it without any question. I asked directly don't someone have to inspect the problem. He said no they will just replace it no question. Now I called their customer service and informed them that I have a noisy and my mattress is drooping on one side after I bought it. They tell me that they will send me 2 forms which I have to fill in and take pictures what a crap service that is not what I was told by the salesman when I bought this crappy mattress. All their salesmen lie and when you call customer service they are the most biggest fools I have ever dealt with before. If this company was truthful in the beginning and explained the warranty process when I first asked them I would have not bought this crap product. They are misleading customers and I am going to call Industry Canada and complain about them. When you are told about your warranty in store they say should there be a noise or anything wrong with the product and they exchange it right away. This is misleading the consumer at point of purchase and Industry Canada should investigate how this company is misleading the consumer. I was not told about the full fact of how this process works. I was told it would be exchanged right away.

Your salesman gave me false and misleading information and used deceptive marketing practices which is against the Competition Act. This Act also prohibits making misleading statements about warranties and guarantees, as your salesman did with me.

Your staff has failed to provide enough information regarding the warrant for the consumer to make an informed purchase. I feel I was mislead and industry Canada has strict rules that companies must follow which your company did not. I will be calling them.

So, after reading so many posts online how people were lied to buy this company Industry Canada needs to be made aware of how this companies staff lies.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ALL LIE AND IF YOU DO BUY GOOD LUCK YOU WILL BE POSTING A NOTE HERE LIKE THE REST OF US DID.

I am currently going through the process of returning a kings down matress that we paid 1600$ for orginally. We bought the matress from the decarie location of Dormez vous from a Tony zambino. First Mr. Zambito lied through his teeth about several things ,first we wanted to finance the bed to which we were told the credit check wouldn't actually touch our line of credit , that is a lie . That financing is free , when in actuality there is a 21 or 25$ fee for the financing. If the two lies wernt enough he ran through the process of number crunching where the seller acts like he's giving you a fantastic deal , jots down a bunch of numbers and basically just confuses you so you think your getting a good deal , it's all just a scam .why? Because if they do in fact lower the price of the matress , good luck getting a fair trade in when your matress needs to be returned or exchanged , it means you'll be paying out of pocket when that time come , such was the case with us on our first return . We had to run through the ridiculous procedure of the ruler and stick and sending in photos. We did in fact have a defective matress and the inspector confirmed that and we were able to get a code and go to the store to select a new matress great! . At the store we picked a diffrent model from the same company (kingsdown) & of course had to pay more for the model . We did in hopes that selecting a "better " matress would yield better results. Not the case , 3 months in the matress started to sink into the middle , it was clearly defective and thus begun the ruler and stick routine of photo b.s.. this time I informed the agent that my girlfriend was indeed 7 months pregnant and moving a king size matress was out of the question , however they insisted on the photos. Not only discusted I had to arrange to get help in order to move the matress . I was appalled that they ,/imply expected a pregnant women to help move a massive king size bed .at this point I left a lengthy message and still nothing , after another month I insist on sending the inspector. To which they FINALLY agreed . The inspector verified that the matress is indeed defective and once again we are going through the process of selecting a matress . We are down sizing from king to queen , because it is clear that the sellers from dormez vous will literally say anything to get the matress out the door of the store to get you caught up in this insane trap they call a business. A smaller bed hopefully prolongs it's life , since we can't get a solid answer were going on logic .now we have a credit but are stuck with two box springs and frame for a king size bed that we will clearly loose out on re selling . So this is my experience with dormez vous , it has stressed me out , made my back pain worse and added stress on my relationship and even unborn child , I would love to be reimbursed solely on principal but clearly that will never happen . Instead I'll let you know how this 3rd of 3 matresses turns out , so far 0 for 2 and a hell of alot of uncalled for b.s . In my life for what , a matress !!! Never again , throughly discusted by all aspects of the company , lies , products, and hiding behind there warranty , and just the entire return policy that I'm sure they will blame on the manufacturers. Bad business. Never again. There matresses and conduct should be investigated.

This co.deserves zero ratings for the horrible quality of their mattresses. Our mattresses were delivered with terrible sags in the middle. Called the co. right away. Had to go through the useless exercise of taking photos and when those got rejected (despite showing the necessary sag) the inspector came, spent 6 min with his stick and ruler, left, and consequently rejected the claim! They finally forced us to invoke our comfort exchange and guess what? 2 more mattresses that showed a visible sag within 3 days! This company obviously buys defective mattresses and cons customers outright! Does it occur to the higher ups that there are more ways to measure a sag other than stick and ruler? How about providing the inspector with disposable plastic sheets so he can actually get on top of the mattress and feel what many customers feel?? Did he take photos of the black drag marks and tear in the box spring? NO! Did he photograph me sitting on the bed showing him my hips were well below my knees? NO! Did he photograph me pressing down in the middle of the bed to show him there was nothing underneath? NO! Did he photograph me sitting on the edge of the bed that completely collapsed? NO! Nice salespeople in store do not make up for defective products! Why doesn't this company understand that NO SAG is acceptable on a brand new mattress EVER? Not even an inch! We keep falling into the middle of the bed and have had back aches for 2 months now.
How does one get in touch with Mr. Schaefer by email? Perhaps he would like to know how his customers really feel. Or not....

I bought a 2500$+ Tempur Pedic back in 2009 at Dormez-Vous. Well indeed I must have been sleeping hard when I agreed to purchase it because I should have looked for online review concerning this store prior to purchasing... but I didn't. Turned out that less than a month after delivery, my husband's side of the bed started collapsing. The memory foam lost it's mind pretty quickly lemme tell you! You could CLEARLY see a dent on his side, and he's not a heavy guy. We called Dormez-Vous and after a few calls to CS and 2 visits in-store to see the guy who sold us the mattress, we ended FINALLY getting a new mattress... that started collapsing after 4 months on both sides. Since Tempur Pedic has a 10 years warranty we just thought we could go back to Dormez-Vous but they refused to change the bed a 2nd time or to refund us (even partially). They told us to contact Tempur Pedic and they tried to help us, but they couldn't refund the product as we didn't purchase it directly from them. We ended having no other choice than to buy another bed (we went at Sears) and the 2500$ Tempur Pedic ended in the guests room. May I add that our guests (usually my parents) always complain of back pain the next morning.

NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING THERE. Believe me, you better wait a few extra months and save extra $ to get a new mattress at Sears, than try to save a few hundred $ and get it at Dormez-Vous.

I received a mixed match mattress and box spring. I called them and they were of no help. They told me to go by the store to arrange another appointment, really!!! They couldn't have arranged an appointment over the phone!! I then call them back and ask if I could have a discount instead. They tell me that once it's paid no discount allowed only if I contact customer service maybe then they can offer a discount. I contact customer service and had to leave a message to have them call me back!!! Still waiting after a week!!!!
Would not recommend this company to anyone. After they got your money they don't care or provide good service!! Be careful if you are considering purchasing from this company!!! I also had left a comment on their page for a discount of 25$ which I never received!!!

Hi! So far I tried 3 mattresses from Dormez-vous and they are all too firm at the head and shoulder level. The other 2 collapsed in the middle...and it's not because I weigh alot because my weight is 110 lbs. I complained to the company and they are telling me that I can get a final exchange. I told them that I was fed up with their exchanges and mattresses so I wanted a reimbursement, which they refused!! Who can I speak too that would help me? Does anyone know how to get the coordinates for Lynn Martel or Christine McGee or Stephen Gunn?

I also bought a mattress there to find out after a few nights it wasn't good, so we needed to exchange it. Phoned back to find out that the salesman no longer works there and I won't get the deal I wanted on the other mattress for an exchange.
Had to pay more money and exchange fee. Then 6 months to 1 year the mattress began to sage in certain areas, we thought it was us where we were sleep so we turned the mattress, didn't do a lot for the problem. Phoned the store and got the run around, we finally after 3 months got someone to check the mattress and had to wait for another month for the results, which I had to phone them. They looked at it only for a few seconds and didn't even touch the bed to see the problem. We didn't get anything done with it and no explanation even why this problem had occured. I think the mattress is defective and want some compensation for it.

I bought a mattress with a value of $2000.00 which ended up being defective and I had it exchanged after putting a fight with customer service to get service due to spending many horrible nights! Mattress wasnt even 3 months old. Finally got a new mattress which I am facing the same problem and I am experiencing the same issue with customer service, giving me a hard time with service! Very unimpressed with handling of customer service I have left a message with the supervisor and to no surprise, haven't heard from her. Probably even writing an email as doing so will not get me much service which leaves me no option but to contact consumer protection and make an issue into the local papers about how horrible the service is and how Dormez Vous doesn't live by their motto of customer satisfaction guaranteed! Thanks for nothing! A very disappointed and dissatisfied customer! Hope this lands to the president of the company!
If I were able to not give a star for rating, I wouldnt!

I've purchase lot's of mattresses at Dormez-Vous for my big family and everytime I had an excellent service, lot's of my friends went also and the same quality of service was made.Sometimes it's easier to say something wrong about a place then to say thank you. For my part I totally recomande Dormez-Vous to everyone!!!

I purchased a Kingsdown King size mattress and boxspring.

When I received the mattress and opened it up there was a slice on the side of the mattress
When I made the agreement to purchase the mattress I was informed that it was in perfect condition, and that it was a returned mattress from someone who could not fit it in their place. At no point in time was I told that there was a slice in the side of the mattress. I was informed that if there was a problem with the mattress when I received it I would have 10 days to contact dormez-vous. When the delivery people brought the mattress I was told that signing their form was for receiving the mattress and that if their was a problem I would have to contact customer service. I contacted the salesman Danny Matta, about the problem the day after I received the mattress, Danny informed me that he would send an email to the customer service and that someone would call me within 72 hours. No one contacted me so I called the store, and I Danny again told me that he would send another email. Still no contact, I called again, and someone else at the store, didn't catch the name, told me they would send yet another email. Again no contact, I went to the store and the man that was there told me that he was the one that sent the most recent email and he would send another. Still nothing, I went to the store again today, and a young lady named Dimitra Diamantakis told me that ripped mattresses do not have warranty, and that someone should have contacted me already about it and that she would send another email.
Finally someone contacted me from customer service and informed me that I had accepted the mattress in good condition, and that I had never contacted anyone previously about the mattress, and that they were not willing to do anything.
I never would have agreed to purchase a ripped mattress.

I just got off the phone with Steve Gunn, The CEO of Sleep Country Canada/Dormez-Vous, he said he will look into it and then have someone call me back.
It took 19 minutes after speaking with Mr. Gunn, for someone to call me and make a delivery date to exchange the mattress for a new one.

It is funny that only when contacting the CEO/president (not even the vice president Lynn Martel), our problems with Dormez-vous get solved. This company should take some of the money allocated for advertisement and put it in improving their customer support, because as they are gaining customers through advertisement, they are losing even more customers through their bad service and word of mouth. CEO should be aware of this.

In 2003 I bought a mattress & box spring, paid 1400$ and now it droops in the middle, only me or my fiancee can sleep in it at once (and we're not large people) because otherwise I end up in the hole in the middle and have to climb out in the middle of the night! Aren't these things guaranteed??? I was told by customer service that 1-1/2" drop in the middle is NORMAL - ya, that's when nobody's in it, it's like a pot hole when we're in bed - I was considering going to Dormez-Vous, forget that idea now! I'll go to Sears, they have GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Bunch of clowns, I hate being ripped off.

I think you need to be more demanding. :)
Comment by mycutefrench on May 13, 2009
Hi,

Thank you for your help, but they WILL NOT send a rep over to verify - they had every excuse in the book as to why it was NORMAL to have such a droop, and of course, then made it all MY fault right.....I spoke to a supervisor and she told me the same thing, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN basically and shit out of luck! I wrote to a local tv show "JE" in hopes that they can help me, I think it's horrible that we pay good money for junk! What's the point of having a 10-25 year warranty?? What's the warranty for???
Comment by debsil on May 13, 2009
I would still insist that a representative come and inspect the bed. If that fails, call the manufacturer and have one of their reps come to inspect the bed. I've returned two mattresses - one through the original store and the other through the manufacturer without any problems, years after the purchase.

Well..here we go again..so first I had the problem with the too thick mattress that they charged be to replaced cause it was way too high to sleep on...see previous post...now I get a letter from their finance company citi finance that offers the no payment, no interest for 1 year...well I took that deal and today I received a letter telling me that the deal is no longer available without a service charge of $21.00 and that fee is retroactive..so now they will add that fee to my bill...what is wrong with this company..I have never heard that you can make an offer and halfway through change the agreement and add a charge for something that was advertised free...I hate them and will never ever deal with them again..good luck olympic athletes..you will be sleeping on sub par mattresses...

I totally regret buying a mattress and a box from Dormez-vous. They have a very bad customer service. They give false statements and promises. They always send defective products. I advise no-one of buying anything from Dormez-vous.

I bought a mattress from Dormez-vous and it was squeeky and a lillte bit ripped. I called them to have it exchanged. It took three months of phone calls, technician visits, excuses from their end to try to avoid doing the exchange. After three months of headache and lack of sleep, they sent me a mattress that is sagging. I called them again to report that and the same horrible process of technicians, waits and phone calls began again. I will never buy anything from Dormez-vous again because besides the fact that they send you deffective mattresses, they offer very bad customer service. I would strongly suggest you never buy a mattress from dormez-vous unless you like to get yourself into endless draining processes and horrible customer service.
