Pacific Cove Properties - Strathmore Lodge

In the time that I've lived at Strathmore Lodge, I have encountered the following issues,

1. Management entering the apartment and not ensuring it was secure before leaving for the day. The entrance to fire escape was left wide open. This entrance is visible and accessible from the street and other units. This happened on a Friday when I was away. The apartment was open to theft for three days until I returned.
2. Mice in the apartment due to the fire escape being left wide open.
3. Management not replying to emails and voicemails. This has happened regularly since I moved in. I have tried to be assertive to address the issues that have come up. The lack of two-way communication makes it almost impossible to have a productive manager-tenant relationship.
4. Landlord/management not following through on promises. We had our free heat taken away when the landlord decided to strip the building of wonderful original radiators and replace them with cheaply made electrical heaters. We received a written promise that rent would be reduced to compensate for increased hydro bills that management was passing onto us. Despite the job being finished in my apartment, and the fact that I am paying more for hydro, management continues to not compensate me for this expense, even despite my polite requests for them to do so. This expense could be up to $400 a year.
5. Nonfunctional heating system. Despite cold weather arriving the landlord did not ensure that there was a functioning heating system (or substitutes) in my apartment. I had to get a space heater to keep the place warm.
6. Loud tenants. I've been woken up by my neighbours having sex. It's happened more than once! The beds are on wheels in this building, so imagine listening to the bed going back and forth as the neighbours above you get it on...
7. Management not respecting my requests. I asked that I be present when management needs access to my suite and management has not tried to accommodate this.

When I considered living here I actually noticed negative reviews about Hana, the manager. I chose to ignore them and that is my fault, as she has certainly lived up to her reputation. If you decide to live here be prepared for the sort of things that I have mentioned above. Clearly, the problems with management are ongoing as nothing seems to have changed since those earlier reviews were written. If you can live with this sort of disrespect, typical of SRO building managers, then maybe you'll like it here. Otherwise, AVOID this place.

Mouse, Noise, construction, no pets sign but too many dogs/cats are inside.
landlord's assistant lady (not Hana) opened my room without notice when I was sleeping half naked.
not moving out because of the cheap rent.
