Dr. Pierce understands the full scope of women’s health concerns and feels maintaining open and honest communication with patients is imperative to provide the best possible care. He is delighted to join a practice where there is an abundance of doctors who collaborate and share specialized expertise. Most importantly, he says, is that Fort Sanders Women’s Specialists’ base philosophy – for all physicians in the practice – is compassionate and individual care. Not all practices are set up to have the time to be so thorough with each patient, but our practice provides that opportunity. Dr. Pierce received his B.A. in Physics from Emory University in 1972 and graduated in medicine from The University of Tennessee Memphis in 1976. He served both his internship and residency at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville. He was in a local private practice for 29 years and earned a stunning reputation. He is also an accomplished gynecologic surgeon, as well as an OB-GYN ultrasound specialist.
