American Nails, Winnipeg Reviews (17)
Poor customer service
Received a deluxe hot stone pedi and shellac manicure. Pedicure was done in less then 30 min $55 and the manicure less then 20 min and that include the shellac $45 pretty expensive considering the services were not great at all. Shellac was cracking n pealing off within 2 days. I called and the owner told me to come in so his wife can look. I did this past Saturday and she was rude. Cuticles were not done. I definitely would not recommend this place of business. Over priced for the service and I was in and out within an hour for $95. I sure hope Vin or Nancy look at these posts so hopefully they can recognize that most clients prefer quality service no matter the $$$ amount. I have been telling all my friends and colleagues about my service and disappointment from the owners. The photos attached were taken an hour after my manicure.
Well I went to get a uv gel fill. My own nails were very long. The owner ( male) took charge of me over the other male and proceeded to cut my nails so short they hurt. When I questioned him he was rude, and said well what do you want to do about it . Really stupid man I want to say F''"k man Rating of - 1 yes that means -1 my recommendation is to never go there I rate this place on behalf of myself and my friends"........................
I've been going to this nail salon for 6 years now. I've been to other salons before and there's no comparison. They are always so welcoming and accomodating. Their prices are fair and the outcome and service you receive is well worth every penny. I've had almost every employee work on me since I've been going there and each one is more than qualified. If your the kind of person who likes a clean, fast, friendly, and cozy environment then this is definitely the place for you. I would recommend this salon to anyone.!
All I can say about this place is that they are AWESOME! The shop is clean and roomy and they are very fast and professional. My nails still look great after having them done 5 weeks ago and I haven't had any nails fall off, I know I need to get them done again soon. My designs and rhinestones are still on. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends. Best thing about this place is you can just walk right in without an appointment and still feel welcomed! Awesome!
Had nails done there for the first time, was the guy who did my nails. Won't go back because I ended up with fingers bleeding.
I went there for my daughters birthday. It was me, my 2 daughters and my sister in law. We all had a bad experience. Me and one of my daughters got a pedicure. They did a horrible job; our feet were still rough afterwards. And they were really rude! The lady that did my pedicure wanted me to put my own nailpolish on. My other daughter and sister in law got french manicures. They were still in pain couple days after. And one of my daughters nails came right off with the gelnail. And the rest of them starting chipping and coming off only days after having them done. I dont usually go here but the place I usually go to was booked so I went here because there was no wait.. i guess i know why. Never going back. Going to stick with my regular place. Never have had to deal with these kinds of problems elsewhere.
I went here on recommendation from my friend and I left very displeased first off all they are a bit pricey ans their service isn't superior to that of others I have been to but the thing is the man who is apparently the owner looked at my nail with two fingers filled small and ill shaped and told me I was good to as soon as my friend took my hand ahe noticed it without me telling her. They believe the hype that they are the best so they over book and then spend all the time running between clients that they don't pay attention to detail for almost fifty bucks all my ten nails need to be straight. Go to Top Service on Sergeant at least if it's cheap u get the best cheap!
I do NOT recommend this salon!
Although I was happy for a number of years with the work of Nancy and Vince, the owners, the other technicians lack the proper skills. I always made appointments ahead of time with Nancy or Vin, but it wasn't a guarantee that this would be the case. They were happy to commit on the phone, but expected you to accept any other technician when you got there. Walk-ins are more important than people with appointments, so rest assured that you will be made to wait and wait if a walk-in appears before you get there [with no apologies forthcoming]. I do NOT recommend this salon.
FRUSTRATED/ANNOYED EX CUSTOMER
I have been to American Nails a number of times for both pedicure and manicure. The fist couple visits were just okay, decent service. I figured I'm on a budget and its relitively cheap so I cant expect the most extravagant service. I have continued coming in for a number of years now but each time I have received worse and worse service and quality. I ALWAYS book appointments in advance, but I'm not sure why because every time I end up waiting at least an hour to get in. I have let it slide the past couple visits but my most recent visit was the last straw. I waited for over an hour before I got in.. as usual. With out being able to look at colour options while I waited. When I finally got in for my shellac manicure (frustrated already) I received no apology for the wait... Then my manicurist literally, and I kid you not let my hands soak for 10 seconds at the most... spent approximately 1 minute on each hand (with "massage") and forced me to pick a colour quickly because they were so busy. As a dedicated customer I have never felt less appreciated. As I was paying for my less than medicore manicure the lady at the cashier recognized me because I have been in numerous times and could tell I was upset. I asked why they even take appointments if I ALWAYS wait at least an hour. She replied that they were behind schedule. I am outraged by the customer service I have received during my recent visits and regret giving them my business so many times. It is safe to say I will never EVER return to American Nails and will inform my friends and family to do the same.
never a bad expierience
American nails is amazing! Nancy is above the top when it comes to free hand workmanship, and she will take extra time with a shop full of ppl to insure you get what you pay for. Infact all of the staff are great. I dont mind waiting as its always a good sign that what at times feels like the only nail place in town cause its that busy. They try to coordinate to get you in and out asap. Thankyou to all of the great staff there.
I decided to go because it was close to home. and I explained it was the day before my wedding and I have a ton of things to do and I needed to be out in an hour and a half "oh yeah, yeah, come on in, have a seat" ... only half way though the mani and pedi at a hour and twenty minute point, I told them I was leaving in 10 minutes, finished or not ... I had get the work touched up at it was not wedding quality, if fact, it was not even a decent quality. I still had old nail polish on the sides of my toe nails ... I was disgusted at their lack of professionalism and quality of service to their clients. if you dont have an hour and a half to service a client, tell them so when they ask ... I will NEVER go back
Best Nail Salon in Winnipeg
Regarding the previous review. I hope there is some truth to what you are saying because of the seriousness of your claim. You should have confronted them if you were unsure or concerned. The staff at American Nails pride themselves on how clean and hygienic their salon is. I am a long time client of American Nails and have been getting pedicures there for years. I notice you get a brand new; in the wrapper, blade everytime. I told the staff at American Nails about your review and they couldn't believe someone would make such a false statement. It cost them $0.06 per blade. It would cost more in labour, detergent and water to clean and reuse the blade not to mention the possibility of cutting themselves. That is also why they wear disposable gloves when performing pedicures, they don't want to risk infecting themselves with what people may have. So, does it make sense for them to reuse blades? I think not!
Worth the wait!
With all the reasons I don't like going to American Nails, I regret going any place else (Inn at the Forks & Ten Spa aside). They are clean, friendly, and quite professional. My main issue is how long you have to wait to get a treatment, they are always so busy, but will not turn anyone away unless they absolutely have too. Bring a book and don't be shocked to be hanging around there for 3 or so hours.
Very Good for nails.
I've been going to American Nails for many many years now, and I find it reliable and very good. They do a great job on Nail fills and manicures. Pedicures are basic and just OK. Prices are good. They can always squeeze you in.
Best nail salon in Winnipeg!
After trying a number of salons and being dissatisfied at poor quality or service I tried American Nails. All I can say is WOW. Great customer service, and my nails look just as great after two weeks than they did when I walked out of the salon, which I never imagined to be possible. :) Highly recommended if you want beautiful nails that will last perfectly between fills!
Damn best place in Winnipeg!
This has got to be the best place in Winnipeg to get your nails done! I've been to lots of different salons in Winnipeg and this is the best DAMN place!!
Love the attention to detail at this location. Also, very friendly and clean!!! :)
This is a great place for nails. It is clean, friendly and the prices are great! I love the attention to the small details on the nails in the pedicures and the manicures... I will definitely be back!
