Eye Specialist Shreveport

Dr. Rachel Borel, OD was born in Metairie, Louisiana and later moved to Shreveport, LA where she graduated from Caddo Magnet High School. She attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences. After graduation, she worked as an Optician and Optometry Assistant for many years. Her joy of the field and love of working with patients caused her to pursue a career in Optometry. She attended the Oklahoma College of Optometry where she had the privilege of working in the Cherokee Nation clinics providing state-of-the-art eye care to an under-served population. Dr. Borel is thoroughly trained to diagnose and treat glaucoma, dry eye, corneal diseases, as well as other eye and vision problems. She is a member of the Optometry Association of Louisiana as well as the American Optometric Association. She is currently an Optometrist at Shreveport Eye Specialists.
