Excellent service throughout this store. They have taken time with my special order items and delivery is prompt and on time. Highly recommend them for all your lumber, building supplies and home supplies.

Have used in the past for a six hundred square foot deck, was ordered by a contractor friend and had no problems. He became ill and I went in to order what was needed for others to complete.

Paid $3400 in May, still have not received the product, received a call over a month ago that only had half order, told to wait so no need for two trips, 11/2 months later, nothing, called left message for Gabby, no return call, called again and complained asking for full refund as I can have the product delivered tomorrow, was told someone would call me back, place now closed, no call, I would stay away as a home owner I deserve the same delivery as a contractor or you wouldn’t be open to the public

Went there looking for a short piece of 1x10 cedar, they found a 8 foot board that was split at one end, there was enough good board for my use. They gave me the board free of charge! Now that was a very nice gesture. Thanks!!

I bought some lumber for my pergola. Best price I could source. Easy to check out online. Free delivery and when the delivery guy showed up, super friendly and easy to work with. Delivered it right where I wanted. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! My family has been using Schell Lumber pretty much my entire life. Glad nothing really has changed.

I had a great experience with Schell Lumber Home Building Centre! Although their return policy states 30 days, they graciously accepted my Bigfoot footings just slightly past the deadline—something I really appreciated. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their inventory is well-stocked, and they seem to have just about everything you might need for a building project. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. Great service all around!

Bought 10 bags of play sand and due to a hiccup with the distance, I had to change the delivery date to today instead of Friday. Arrangements were made and I have to say, I’m extremely impressed with how things were handled. All the bags were stacked beautifully and exactly where I asked in the order. Spoke to Kyle and he had his guys delivery with no problem(I hope). My boy will be very happy. Solid bunch of hard workers. Thanks very much again for working this out, Kyle. Cheers everyone.

Schell Rental gives 5+ Star service. It's hard to find "Service" in any business today. If you live in Stouffville you do not need to look to far "Go to Schell Lumber and Rental". I had them service my snow blower for winter. They will pickup your snow blower and drop it back off and they deliver on the service 110%. They even drain the old gas and fill ya up for winter. We are very disappointed with Schell Lumber. We purchased a sliding door from Mike at the Stouffville location. It was installed and we noticed the door is not closing properly. Needless to say, months later and they refuse to fix the door and I am stuff with a door that doesn’t close properly. Horrible customer service and they don’t stand behind their product.

Really concerned with the way Brent the owner operates his business. He is aggressive, points and curses at customers. This happened to me while getting service done to my lawn mower and just a re-string for my trimmer. I was told it would be ready "whenever he finds the energy the work on it." 4 days later I was called and told to come pick up my trimmer as they couldn't fix it. I was very confused as all I asked was for a re-string. I went to pick up my trimmer, however kt was in 3 separate pieces, and the young workers there didn't even know where the rest of the trimmer was. How could I be called to come in to pick up my trimmer when it was in pieces and nobody had an idea about it? I left a perfectly functioning trimmer with them and came back to a broken machine. After I called requesting that I get my trimmer back in the condition I left it in, I was told that they "miraculously located the only trimmer head left in Canad" that fits my machine and that I'd be charged $30 for it. How could I possibly be charged for something that I did not need? My trimmer was claimed to have been broken however all it needed was a re-string. I requested to get the old head back but they somehow couldn't find it. After speaking to the owner Brent about this, he was aggressive in nature and began to point in my face and curse. This is not how you operate a business. Try and avoid getting any service done here as there is some kind of sketchy operation going on, or they just don't know what they're doing.

The owners and staff at Schell Lumber are terrific, really helpful every time I have been there. You don't have to look for someone to help you as in the big box stores, there are many staff to help you. I had a problem with my front door latch and needed a major part. I showed them the issue and the gave me the part from a box of spares they kept at no charge.
Otherwise replacing the whole unit would have cost $200 to $300 with much aggravation to install a new latch, and maybe paint job on the door as the design would not have been the same as the original.
Other times they have given great advice on how to get things done. It's the type of personalized service we used to get from the local hardware store in years gone by. And you don't need to go searching for an "associate" as in other stores.

A very cool Home Hardware! Unlike most I’ve been to this location isn’t one store but multiple! It can make finding things if you’re new to this location difficult but once you understand how everything is organized you’ll be fine.

Staff wise the customer service here is amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and will answer your questions around where items are located.

Overall a good shopping experience.

I've build fences aroung two backyards and two sheds using lumber and components ( windows and doors for sheds) from Schell Lumber.
Excellent quality, prices beat those in big brick stores, great service.
