If you already know what you want before going in the store and just walk in and order some fixtures, your experience might be great, because then you wont be made to feel as if you are wasting his "precious" time! I only say this because I went in to order some fixtures that I saw online and dealt with another employee, but while I was there I watched this guy (who I didn't know at the time was the owner), talking very rudely to a couple because they were asking for a refund (which they don't offer refunds) since their order had taken over 3 months to arrive and they were being given the run-around for the past 2 months about when it was going to arrive. I should have taken that as a hint not to shop here, but I didn't. When I went back to pick up my order, I was shocked to see that not only does Tom treat the customers horribly, but you can tell by the looks on his employees' embarrassed faces that they do NOT enjoy being there! It's pretty bad when customers can see a boss talk so condescendingly to his employees. He is lucky he has those people. I feel horrible for anyone who has to put up with him!
I have been to the Burlington and St. Catherine's locations and can't believe this Rymal Road store is connected to the other locations! I don't care if he has been doing this for 30 years, they need to cut him loose!
There happen to be other ladies there that were looking at the same light when I was checking out if this was a defect in the design even on the floor before going to get the refund. Sure enough it was. Saved a woman from buying it when she was able to see the same defect.
After the rudeness of the sales associate I went over to the two ladies to tell them of store policy of no refunds and how rude he was. (those words only) He then loudly exclaimed that I had gone to these customers to tell them know what had just transpired. I just said when someone is rude then someone else needs to know. He said he would pray for me.... I have no idea what for lol. I then replied that's what the internet is for, reviewing bad business practice.
I did not raise my voice or use bad language. I have a business and conducted myself accordlingly.
My initial visit in the store was conducted in a rude manner. I shrugged it off that time. He was working with me(making the purchase of ceiling light) and then stopped abruptly to talk to another woman and then a fellow on the other side of me. I had questions on other fixtures for future purchase. Once he discovered this he was giving his full attention again.
I will never go back to this store even though I seen a $1000 dining light I was strongly going to buy. As he said life is to short..... to deal with poor custumer service!
