Super Discount Coin Laundry, Etobicoke Reviews (1)
I found Magic Coin through a review I read on the internet, I called to find out what the rates were and was told $1 per pound - no other special information was provided.
I brought my 67 pounds of laundry to Magic coin and I was VERY impressed, the lady 'Jane' even assisted me to carry my laundry, I thought WOW great customer service.
Today March 27th - that IMAGE WAS SHATTERED. I again dropped off my 50+ pounds of laundry at noon to be pick it up after 8pm.
As I eagerly arrived to pickup my laundry the fairytale came to an end.
It appears that I should have read all the pieces of paper they have on the wall, including the little ones by the cash, as a result I was completely unaware that duvets and large blankets were $18/$12 not $1 per pound.
To my surprise, my bill was another $28 dollars - but I did not feel that I should pay this for the following reasons:
1. When I asked how much - I was told $1 per pound - not $1 per pound with the following exceptions.
2. When I spoke to the gentlemen when I brought in my laundry and I told him that I always washed and dried my duvet in the machine so it did not need any special treatment therefore, he was fully aware that I had a duvet - I was not told at that time it was more - nor was it specificed on my receipt.
3. I told her these should not have been washed as I was not told that it was going to cost $28 dollars - it was not my fault they did not take my name or number so they could called me if there were any issues
As I did not feel that I should pay, the lady had to call the owner 'Lisa' she tried to make this out to be my fault and I explained that I was never told that and I apolgized for not reading the signs, but as I was told it was $1 per pound and was not advised of any exceptions to that, I did not know I needed to read the signs. 'Lisa' exaplined to me "we are very honest, and have been in business for 15 year (?) and have never over charged a customer", I explained I am very honest and that had I been told or been aware I would have told them to not wash these - and I was not willing to pay $28 dollsrs and I told 'Lisa' that the most I would agree to pay was $10, and she said "You can pay the $57 on the bill but don't come back".
Well 'Lisa' I feel I need to let you know that this is definitely your loss - what you don't know about me is that I am very loyal - I was very impressed with your laundry service and would have continued to return with the 60 pounds of laundry every 2-3 weeks, but now NO - so I will have to find another place and I will - but you will always have lost the revenue - approximately 1600 per year!!!!!
