Took my nephew here for his birthday and he had a blast. The instructor was very helpful, since I was new, and was very patient explaining how the ropes and harnesses worked, and letting us know which walls we should climb as beginners. Looked like there was lots of advanced walls as well, and I look forward to tackling those another time!

The Boiler Room, as the name suggests, once housed the heating plant for a Woolen Mill located on the west bank of the Cataraqui river. With the mill long gone, the building has become home to many local businesses, including the Boiler Room Climbing Gym. Under the guidance of engineering genius and all around great guy, Ian Kilborn, the space has been transformed into a state of the art indoor climbing facility. Some of the historical flavor of the Boiler Room has been preserved not only in the name of the gym, but in its construction as well.
Chimney outside the Boiler Room: The Chimney is open! 100 feet of fun, with a GREAT view of Kingston at the top.
