I have bought a few things now and cannot complain about any thing! The staff are friendly and helpful! My purchases have never had any problems! I especially like the owner! He is such a nice person as well! I would recommend this store to anyone! Ask for help and they are happy to serve. A special thanks from Sharryl!

I came to the store for a silver chain and was talked into buying a chain and pendant. The chain broke and when I returned, the store had "disappeared". I had the chain mended at Sears and the day after I got it back it broke in another place. I took it to another jeweler who tried to repair it, but told me there were too many weaknesses in it and it could not be mended. The silver chain was listed at SI-EV-CH-2
It is only good for the garbage.
Thank goodness the company is no longer in Guelph.

I came to the store looking for a pair of 1.4 carat diamond earrings with particular color, cut and clarity. I was given a price of $3800 plus financing with no interest for 12 months. I was told discount is only for that day. I thought it was a good deal so I took it. The saleslady took my personal info for the financing. I was approved and saleslady said earrings will be ready in a couple of weeks. Two days after the purchase was made, a manager of the store called and told me that they made a mistake with the price - that the price they gave me was for a 0.70 carat diamond (really!). Manager said she can give me same price for same type diamond but for a lesser carat (1tw). I declined because I can get that price somewhere else. The reason of my purchase was because of the good deal. The new offer was not that a good deal anymore. So I agreed to go back to the store to cancel my purchase (even though I believe that this was their mistake, that if they meant to provide good customer service, they should own that mistake). I had a feeling this was a sales tactic. When I came to the store, I was made to wait as the manager was busy attending to a couple customer. The saleslady who sold me the earrings saw me and not even once apologized. I even asked her if she can cancel the credit card for me as I will not be needing it, she was abrupt in saying it's your credit card so you cancel it. I was getting impatient waiting so I told saleslady to tell manager that I am the person who she called re wrong price. Manager didn't even speak with me directly. Just gave instructions to the saleslady in whispers so other customer won't hear. They offered me further $200 discount but I declined because I'd rather pay a little more for a much better customer service. My experience was very unpleasant, I was inconvenienced and without apology and was treated like I don't matter, and left to deal with cancelling the credit card which they talked me into getting. This will affect my credit report.

I'm confused by all the terrible reviews. I purchased a gold ring for my mother at the Erin Mills location for Christmas. It was a 14k gold diamond band (it's stamped correctly, I checked). The staff was so friendly and helpful and told me she could get her ring sized for free which she did after Christmas. We are both very happy with the product and staff and highly recommend this store.

Any customer planning on buying jewelry avoid this store! There is lots of misinterpretation from the sales representatives to take their incentives. They try to convince you to buy and they never mention that there is no return policy in their shop. With this company I had the worst experience ever!!

I purchase d a ring Nov 3 2015 it has a middle stone when I got home I noticed the stone was lose so I called the store and I took it back the next day. They said oh we will fix well 10 days later I got it back and the same thing happened 2 days later so back I go for round 2 they said oh we will send it again so I said okay. They called last night said ring is back after another 8 days I went today and before I left the store I checked the stone still lose I said it's not fixed the lady said yes it is I said no feel it she said oh i don't feel anything liar. I said I don't want the ring she said well there is nothing we can do it's used I said I wore it a total of 3days out of thirty. They said oh we can send it again I said no. They finally said choose something else so I had to settle for a different ring but it's not what I wanted I just wanted to be done with that place. They are liars and thieves. The only reason for the star is because I had too. If I could I would give them a -10 ugh

Just stay away. Unbelievable. They don't need retraining, they need to leave Stone Road Mall, and they are, even though they are telling everyone that they are just moving to a better location in the mall. Run don't walk from this place. Forced by this site to give them 1.5 stars. They are 0 stars.

Wish I could give this place a 0. Went into the store because I wanted to know the details of a ring I had been given by an alcoholic ex (I did not want to return it, I just wanted to know what it was made of, what size the diamond was... etc etc, to see if I could sell it myself online). This woman totally belittled me and made me feel like an idiot for wanting to sell a ring due to bad feelings towards the one who had given it to me. So rude, no help AT ALL, she didn't even tell me any details on the ring, and she snooped into my personal life in such a rude and unclassy way. I should have told her off but was shocked at her arrogance.

The store manager will not take any returns, is selling inferior quality gold and belittles and intimidates customers. It is HORRIBLE service. Their attitude and arrogance may be acceptable in their country but they clearly need to learn how to respect people here and not yell and kick them out of the store when dealing with customers. They are scammers and i would NOT provide ANY personal financial information to them. You cannot locate a head office or legitimate website.
They play nice to get you to buy, but show any dislike for their item s and they change their tune almost immediately. Its creepy. And then they put you down and walk away to their next customer to prey on. They have a store at the Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga and i saw the SAME MANAGER in there. I was disgusted that his business is getting away with this there too!

The customer service is beyond disgusting. The manager is beyond rude when trying to sell me something and would get offended when I told him it's not something I'm looking for. Wouldn't even offer other items.

I wish I could put - in front of the star rating. Having worked in the customer service for over 20yrs, I was shocked of how we were treated in this store. I had to go and deal directly with the supplier to resolve my issue. Will never go back again!

The extremely hostile "manager" of this store is a despicable human being.
DO NOT shop there until he is fired.

Highlights from this past weekend below...

He intimidates (or tries to at least) his staff, bullies them in front of customers, and discourages them from going that extra mile - e.g. a lovely younger girl wanted to clean my white gold bracelet (purchased there), as per my request but he put a stop to that, then had the audacity to tell me they "don't do that, because "there's nothing to clean, it's not a diamond". The girl actually looked afraid of him. I felt so bad for her.

I read this man like a book the moment I walked in so I chose not to engage because I refuse to stoop to his level. I kept calm and classy, but his attitiude did not end there...

He BROKE my watch (purchased there) while another younger gentleman was replacing my battery (my watch was in PERFECT condition when I walked in - I wear it all the time as it is my favorite piece and take really good care of it. Plenty of witnesses available. I KNOW he broke it, but I won't go into details here).

He makes up figures as he goes, does not even have a register but WRITES receipts on paper, folds them and hands them to you without any eye contact. Picture that for a moment. Yes, he does that.

He threatened to call security on my mom (the actual buyer of the above mentioned items) after she walked in to confront him following my reaction to my broken watch which this douchebag REFUSED TO SEND to the manufacturer and told me to do it instead.

He refused to give his name!!!! LOL WHO DOES THAT? This guy.

This is not the service I expected from a store where I spent a substantial amount of money, and was promised a no-hassle lifetime warranty service including shipping the item ON MY BEHALF like typical "fine" gold places do for their customers.

Note: the rest of the staff (younger girl with dark hair (updo), older lady with blonde hair, and a younger tall gentleman - ALL LOVELY PEOPLE. I am sorry they work under such an awful person.)

The company should really re-evaluate whom they've hired to manage their business and people working under them. This man needs to go. Don't believe me? Send a mole, record him and observe. Wait, perhaps someone's already done that? As for me, I'm off to enjoy my holidays but when I return, rest assured there will be a formal complaint filed.

went to Fine Gold Jewellers at Stone Road Mall in Guelph to purchase a wedding band and was told it had to be sent out for sizing and would be back within 10 days that was on Nov 25/14. After calling the store numerous times to see if it was in and getting no information other then it was not in I finally went to the store on Dec 19/14 to get my money back as I was tired of waiting and very dissatisfied with their service.
After a very loud confrontation with this IDIOT I finally got $100 refund and the promise that the ring would be in the very the next day and delivered to my house by one of his staff or I would get a full refund.
They did make the delivery the next day but what we what we had to go through to get any kind of satisfaction was absolutely ridiculous. To have to shout and scream at this guy is not the way that I want to shop. I NEVER WILL STEP INTO THIS STORE EVER AND I TELL OTHER PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY

This had to be the worst customer service I have ever encountered in a store. My sister bought a gift for my brother for Christmas and the next day she found out that my Mom had already purchased a similar gift. We brought the item back with intentions of trading in just the chain and keeping the cross however when we even mentioned exchanging, the manager (who was immediately confrontational with us) simply turned away and pointed to the sign and repeatedly said "no. refunds." as if we were stupid. We are in our 20's and any smart business should try their best to create life long customers with young consumers however this place has lost my business and I'll be happy to tell everyone I know not to shop here. Be vigilant of their strict NO. REFUND. policy, even if you return it the next day.

My husband bought me a ring to re-propose to me on our anniversary so we could renew our vows and after he picked up the ring he noticed a chip in one of the stones. So not wanting to give me a damaged ring and not having noticed right away he brought the ring back the following day. When he showed them the ring and told them he would like to fix it all they could do was blame us and say we needed to be more careful. Once the ring was done and all fixed they called my husband to come in and pick it up, once he was there they continued to tell him that they fixed it this time for free but that we needed to be more careful and that they wouldn't fix it for us again. I couldn't believe that they were still trying to blame us! The stone in the ring was chipped in the corner of the stone where it looked like they just set it to tight and my husband explained that to them and yet they still were blaming us. My husband sick of arguing decided to let it go since the problem was fixed and left. Only to find out when he gave it to me that the stones in it were loose and rattling around to the point where one ended up falling out! I couldn't believe after all the problems that we had already had and the amount of money he spent on the ring that this was now happening and that they would sell such poor quality jewlery! I was so upset I ended up taking the ring somewhere else and paying to have it fixed proper! I will never shop at Fine Golf again nor would I recommend anyone else doing so.

Very Poor Customer Service. Poor quality product. Overall Dissatisfaction. Last July (2013) my fiance visited this store with the intentions of buying his wife-to-be a beautiful engagement/wedding ring set. We are young, and do not have all kinds of money to spend. He bought what he thought was a beautiful set, and paid $440 plus taxes for a set he thought was perfect. I was proposed to at the end of that month and loved the set myself. It was a 10 carat white gold band and engagement ring with cubic zirconia stone set atop of the ring, and 7 stones down each side, with the same set of little stones surrounding the top portion of the wedding band. It was beautiful. After having the engagement ring on my hand for a little over 2 months, I managed to know the larger stone out of place on the ring (at work) and took it back to the store to be put back together. They understood our problem, and because this was not "warrantied" work, we did have to pay out of pocket to reset the stone. While it was in, I got them to resize the ring as well, as it was a bit too big and often slid up and down my fingers. Everything was fine at this point. We got the rings back, paid for our services and left. After studying the ring a few days after we got it back, I noticed the "welding" job on the large stone, was poorly done, and that the stone sat somewhat crocked in its place. It didn't look horribly bad, and wasn't noticeable at quick glance. So I left things alone. IT is now a year later, and I wanted to get my rings sized for our wedding coming up in August. I took my rings to my preferred jeweler that I deal with closer to home. He was very straight forward with us, stating that this kind of ring was too delicate to be sized (the white gold was not meant to be sized often) and that in doping so, it would leave a brownish discoloration on the band due to the cutting of the metal. After reviewing both rings carefully, he told me that he could do it, but the cons out-weigh the pro's in this situation. So I went back to Fine Gold Jewellers in the Guelph mall hoping to see what they could do for us. Since we did originally buy this set from them. The manager was very rude right from the get go. We came in distraught, looking for answers, and all we got was "what is your problem." We explained to him what we were told by the other jeweler (knowing that not all of it may have been true, and that everyone is in it for their buck). He was very standoffish while we were trying to explain that we were never told this type of material was not meant for resizing when he purchased the set. We had our original bill still in hand while at the store and asked if he could help us in re-sizing the rings. He agreed that he could no problem. After bringing up the setting of the larger stone, and asking if it could be replaced, the manager said "show me." He had been looking at the ring and could not see what we saw with the way they stone was sitting. I was getting very frustrated at this point with his rudeness to his own customers. After a few harsh words were said on both parts, he put my rings back in the box and said "there is nothing I can do for you now." So I simply asked for my refund as these rings are now useless to us. I got a "no." So I asked if we could have a store credit (not that I wanted to buy anymore of this junk, but maybe get a sturdier set of rings) and got a "no". After asking for a phone number of some sort that we could call and speak to some reps of this "fine gold jewellers" long time business people, he had nothing to say. So we left, rings in hand. After doing my research on this specific store, I am not able to find ANY website information, head office, contact phone numbers. What sort of company is this? I have read over 15 reviews on the web about this store in specific, and their poor customer service, and very poor quality products. I wish my fiance had seen these reviews before stepping foot in such an unsatisfactory place. They DO NOT stand behind their products, and treat their customers poorly.
After dealing with such a RUDE (only nice word I can use to describe) "manager" of the store, I really don't want any settlement. I am not willing to go back there for any reasons. Any amount of store credit would be worthless to us after seeing the type of product they sell (and do not stand behind), their incredibly poor customer service, and we were already refused a refund for our products so we know that is out of the question. I just wanted to put it out there how poorly they dealt with this situation, and how they reacted to upset customers. Clearly, after doing my research, we are not the only ones.

I could spend a lot of time echoing what is written here, but here's the short version: my wife bought me a watch for our first anniversary. It did not keep time from the get-go, constantly loosing time. We brought it back within a few days of my wife presenting it to me (this is the Kitchener store) and after claiming to change the battery FGJ insisted all was well. It wasn't. We brought it back a second time, and after first insisting that we send it to the manufacturer, they agreed to send it. Four days later they called to say after monitoring the unsent watch, it was working fine and we should come pick it up. For the sake of convenience (we live 90 minutes away) we had a friend pick it up, opened the package when she arrived and it was an hour off. I called to complain and the manager said, "are you telling me I don't know how to read a watch? I'm telling you it keeps time!" Yeah, and in a perfect world he'd be doing time. They take no responsibility, only your money, and have no intergrity. BEWARE and avoid at all costs!!!

I bought my wedding band at this location. Diamonds and blue sapphire gems around. Within two weeks of wearing it one blue sapphire fell out. Luckily they agreed to fix it at no cost however I just got the band back on Monday and today is Wednesday and another blue sapphire fell out. I am going there today to see what can be done but I have no idea how I am suppose to wear this band for the rest of my life with such bad quality!! I wish I would have seen these reviews before purchasing. Disappointing.

I bought a necklace for my girlfriend. After 2 weeks, the necklace broke right where the clasp is located. They refused to do anything about it, were very rude and said that it wasn't their problem and wanted to charge for the repair.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They are rude and don't stand behind their product.

My fiance (now husband) bought my engagement ring at this store, so we went there for our wedding bands. All went well until we realized they had not properly sized his finger and his band, which had a pattern, was too big. It cannot be re-sized (a pattern and yellow and white gold portions - kind of two bands put together, they would separate if re-sized). It was partially his fault, he thought it fit, but no one checked or realized it was a hot day so his fingers may be swollen. We didn't realize until after the wedding that it was so big. After they tried to tell us it wasn't too big, we sent it out to have balls put on the inside. My engagement ring is a little loose in the winter, so I sent it out to be shrunk a bit. Two weeks later we got a message that head office didn't want to put the balls on his ring, but they had ordered us a new one. We didn't want a new ring!! That was the ring from our ceremony! I was already angry when we went to pick up my ring and tell them to send his out again for the balls (they are afraid people won't like them so it's like pulling teeth to make them do it), and I couldn't get my ring on my finger!! They do NOT know how to size rings properly! Things are somewhat fixed now, but thinking about that store makes my blood pressure skyrocket! Don't go there if you want any sizing done!

DO NOT shop at this jewellery store for anything special. My husband purchased an engagement ring here. He told the salesperson exactly what I wanted, as we had been looking, and they ended up talking him into purchasing a ring that was the exact opposite of what I wanted. We ended up taking the ring back (as they have you on the hook - exchange only) and chose a ring closer to what I wanted originally. That ring was sent out to their head office as I wanted the setting to be in yellow gold instead of white and also a matching wedding band was to be created at the same time. The ring that was returned was a completely different ring than what we purchased (ring #2) and the wedding band was the most hideous piece of jewellry I'd ever seen. Of course the salesperson thought it was absolutely beautiful!! After long, frustrating and very painful dealings with the store and the management, we ended up receiving a credit (credit only) and purchased another ring (ring #3) at the store in Square One in Mississauga. We did not at this point want anything to do with them and did not trust them at all, but had to as we would have lost all of the initial investment. I would never, ever deal with any of the Fine Gold Jewellers stores again. BEWARE. And, if you are purchasing anything at this store be sure to get the return policy in writing and be sure to take photos of everything that is sent out for repair/sizing, etc. Definitely not a trustworthy store to be dealing with when purchasing an engagement ring especially. Spend the extra money and deal with a reputable jeweller. It's worth it, believe me. What was supposed to be such an amazing and special occasion became a nightmare, all due to dealing with this store.
