Metta Man

If you are a man like me, and many other men I know, then you may feel like something is missing, or not quite right in your life. Maybe you have achieved career success, financial security, have family and friends that you love, and perhaps you are unsure why you feel this way. Perhaps you feel stuck in some area of your life such as career, relationships, or having a sense of purpose or meaning. Maybe you feel like you don’t measure up to society’s idea of what a man is. Maybe you feel lonely, and crave genuine connection and friendship with other men, where you can share what is going on for you without fear of judgment or ridicule. Or, perhaps you are just exhausted by the constant pressure of maintaining a “mask of masculinity” in line with societal expectations, and just want to be yourself (although you might even be unsure who your true self is after playing the role of the “idealized” man for so long).
