I hope she rots in hell! As a community we should be ashamed. I could do nothing while more people were taken in by this fraudster. Managed to get half our money back and am still pursuing her in court. If anyone feels they have some evidence to help further my cause to have her and her business investigated by the RCMP please contact me or the RCMP. Thank you

Heather took from many of us, precious jewelery, very important to our family and ourselves. I have never experienced such a diabolical person. Heather was going down in business years ago, and I wish I had asked around about her, and checked out court services on line through the ministry of justice (online). I know I am never going to see my diamond stud earrings earrings worth almost $20,000 ever again. The only place she should be hiding out in is behind bars!

After almost twenty years knowing Heather and trusting her, I too have now fallen victim to her scams. I gave this woman $1184.00 and in turn she was going to contact her "good friend" Donnatella Versace and purchase for me 6 wine goblets. After almost a year and a half of being given the complete run around, I came back from an extended vacation in the month of March 2015 to find her out of business. Four days before Christmas 2014, I went to her store and suspiciously there were no employees and the electricity was down. With such confidence Heather assured me that my goblets were on their way and that I needed to be patient as Donatella was making sure that the "dialot" was perfect! I have been completely scammed. I believe in my heart that my money was taken with the intent to steal. Now she has tarnished her family name and run the store completely into the ground. I just hope that karma is true and that she too experiences the same troubles that many of her patrons endured.

My mother left me a necklace which needed restringing so, being new to Kelowna, I took it into Howarth's as I thought a 3rd generation company could be trusted to do good work. I was so wrong! After pre-paying $100 and three months of waiting, the necklace was returned to me and promptly broke on the first wearing. Heather Howarth assured me she would get the necklace re-strung correctly and my money re-funded. Neither has happened despite a complaint to the BBB and many phone calls and letters to her. I have never received my necklace back and I'm out the $100! What a disgrace she is to the jewellery profession. It appears that the business is now defunct (bankrupt?) as the store is empty and the name has been removed - a sad but not surprising end to a business run by a criminal.

Do no take your business to Hawarth & Sons. We had a nightmare time with my engagement ring. The side stone was not set properly. I took it another goldsmith who looked at it and said the side stone had been fractured when they were trying to set it so that's why it wasn't sitting right. Go back to Haworth and tell them to fix it or my money back. I agree to buy two new larger side stones... always an excuse on why they never came in after being ordered. In the end, I demanded my money back... over $6000. I was relentless with daily emails and stopping into the store. It was either this or small claims court, which I threatened on a weekly basis. It took almost 1 year in total but I got my money back in post dated installment cheques. She did put a stop payment on one of the cheques so I wasn't able to cash it and had to go back to demanding my money, which I eventually got. The poor court appointed "accountant" is the scapegoat. Horrible service. A real shyster.

How are you NOT open on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm during the Christmas season? Did I miss something? This has happened twice this year - once in the summer as well.

Has anyone pursued their complaints further, small claims or lawyer advice? There are so many that have been 'scammed' by this business --- what are the reactions from lawyers, insurance or RCMP ? Are all the reactions 'Too Bad, nothing we can do' ? What if everyone groups together in one complaint?

Heather has been scamming us for almost a year. We pre-paid, biggest mistake ever for a new wedding ring my wife lost. Its been almost a year and a 1000 excuses where the new ring is. We don't even know if it really exists. Insurance said go to RCMP. We should have a long time ago but my wife has been holding on to faint hope it will one day be done. DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS THERE. I have disgusting and personal story about Heather Haworth.

My sister and her family lost everything in a fire in October 2013. The fire and their story was on Castanet.

This criminal hounded them constantly for the money to repair the few damaged pieces of jewellery that were found in the burnt remains of their house. She demanded all the money and then disappeared. No more calls to them, nor would she return their calls. In the midst of insurance claims and trying to keep some sanity for their children, this lady has taken all that my sister has left of the pieces that were given to her from our mother. 7 weeks later, my sister finally got through and asked for the pieces back. After a million excuses as to why its been so long and why she couldn't access her safe (fire, audit...) what she received was shocking. The few items that were so called "finished" were nothing but dirty, used, cheap pieces of jewellery, nothing like the antiques that were brought in.

This business is a total fraud and she is a thief. Just google her to read all the stories. When confronted about the shoddy workmanship and the whereabouts of the rest of the money paid she lawyers up.

Nobody should ever do business with them. Her father would be horrified if he knew what his store has become. This woman is horrible and I hope we can stop her from doing this to anyone ever again.

had a ring custom made from other rings i had collected over the years. very happy, stunning arrangement lots of compliments, and oddly her gem master guy, had to charge her $400 above the quoted price when i first picked it up which was passed onto me. Everytime I took it back to get it cleaned, i would be stuck with a 'repair' bill-unapproved- for 'claws that were damaged'. Anywhere from $250-$500 +. After a $500 bill that was unapproved, i stopped going there. I do not know how these folks are still in business, because I'm sure this happens to others besides me.

Initially Heather (owner) comes across very knowledgeable. Good service in terms of getting the stone I had asked for and well priced. Once that transaction was completed the service ended. Trying to get an appraisal was like pulling teeth. The appraisal I finally received was from the store, not the 3rd party appraisal I was promised. Makes me doubt the ring we bought. However, the diamond is engraved and certified so should be OK. Only other excuse for the cat & mouse games is that no 3rd party appraiser will work for them - not getting paid seems a common theme.

I have had 1 or 2 conversations with Heather in the past and found her to be somewhat pushy.But she is knowledgeable. So this time I asked her for her opinion on a ring I wanted to sell and she gave me the options and said she would be happy to help me. Even called me the next morning to ask me if I want to sell it outright or put it on consignment..she might have a buyer this week blah blah blah.
But it was a TOTALLY different story when I went in THE VERY SAME DAY and said yes I would like you to buy it from me at the agreed upon price. Oh THEN SUDDENLY HER ACCOUNTANT WAS OUT OF TOWN AND TOLD HER NOT TO DO ANY BUYS UNTIL HE RETURNED!! Right sure uhuh whatever you say Heather ! Very disappointed in Heather's 'customer service ' !!

When my husband played for the Okanagan Sun he had my engagement ring custom made at James Haworth & Son and it is amazing! He worked with Heather on the design and she was wonderful and very knowledgeable.
We also had his wedding ring custom made with them as well as he wears a 13&3/4 band.
They do quality work and the pricing was really good.
We live in northern BC and are planning a trip down to have my five year anniversary ring designed with Heather this summer. I am also going to have them reconstruct my mothers wedding set too.
I give them 5 stars hands down!!!

i recently had a watch appraised by a watchsmith at howarths (if he actually exists)and was always out of town if you wanted to speak with him, the wath came back with the appraisal only the case numbers where listed on the paper and and not the mechanism number, 2 scratches inside the case ,polish had managed to find its way into the mechanism,i had already spent $400 on giving it a service and clean only to have to do it again,i didn't trust sending it back to be done by howarth's,when i called to complain ,attitude was recieved in abbundance,the appraisal cost me $80 plus the additional cleaning of $400.i was hoping to sell the watch but know with the money investd in it wouldnt be worth it, i would have to ask for 50% more to cover my cost which is not fare on the buyer

Had the same pushy service for my credit card money as well. After they got the cash ,it's now been over a year with lies and deception. They do nice work but squeezw you and hope you get frustrated and give up and leave them your money for no work done. Staff turnovers must mean dissatisfied workers also. Heather will say anything to get your cash first

Heather is very charming on the phone. But after reading a few reveiws I dove for the phone and cancelled with my credit card company. Glad I did it took weeks for her to return my calls and then they tried every way to keep my deposit. No goods were ordered or exchanged.

I wouldn't trust this business if my life depended on it. Heather comes across as this charming and caring person, yet in reality she is cunning and deceptive. I bought my fiance an engagement ring which I paid for in cash. Not even 2 weeks went by when one of the diamonds fell out. I took the ring back, she replaced the diamond claiming this was a freak occurrence.
A couple of months later The main stone fell out! This time I had a closer look at the ring, only to notice one of the main claws holding the stone was gone! Upon returning, Heather tried to blame my fiance for the rough handling and subsequent damage. I was stunned. She refused to give me a refund or even repair it. Furious, I took the ring to a reputable jeweller who informed me the claws were much too small for the type and shape of stone. I have since filed a complaint with the BBB.
If you do decide to buy from them, have it verified by another jeweller. Do not trust anything Heather tells you.

I know for a fact most of the positive reviews are made up by this business staff.
Save yourselves a lot of heartache and cash, avoid this place at all costs.
Many jem wholesalers refuse to supply them, because they do not pay their creditors on time. They have a reputation for exaggerated prices, and abnormal deep discounts.
This business has been flagged by the BC Revenue agency for tax evasion and fraud. Just google it to see for yourself.

3. Quality

They are the great !!!!

wide variety of items. I was impressed! Some very beautiful items that I purchased and always show off to my company when they come over.

I was happy to meet heather and have been able to get such a good deal on my engagement ring. I would recommend visiting haworth they are great to deal with.
