Spence Diamonds Ltd, Edmonton Reviews (9)
We recently arrived at Spence to look at Engagement rings. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and service we received. Although we were just looking to see what was available within our budget, Ami helped us select the perfect diamond and setting. Her level of knowledge allowed us to feel confident in our ring selection and I can’t wait to wear it forever!
I went in looking for a stunning engagement ring and when I left Sandi had helped me not only find the best ring and the most incredible diamond
I purchased a engagement ring on lay away from Spence Diamonds in the West End of Edmonton and made 3 payments along with the down payment, which was a total of over $2000. When my ex cancelled the contract they only refunded us $416. When I found the prototype and returned it, they kept my ring AND ALL MY MONEY!! Then they told me to leave the store. They stole OVER $1500 off me.
NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!! THEY WILL STEAL YOU'RE MONEY!!

Buyer beware.... google "Spence Diamonds Reviews" , I wish I did. CBC did a news investigation on Spence in 2013 and the Better Business Bureau has many complaints to see before you buy from Spence. It is not a great experience spending thousands of dollars and having issues with your jewelery, customer service, or quality.
I recently purchased an engagement set from Johanna at your West End store. Johanna made the experience exciting and fulfilling. She was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I enjoyed going to "diamond school". This experience made me confortable with my purchase and I knew I was getting a great value for my dollar.
Spence should be commended for their staff and the service that they provide!
Thank you so much Johanna!

We went to Spence Diamonds Edmonton to purchase my wedding band. Throughout the process of buying the ring everything seemed fine. We requested that the wedding band match my engagement ring (diamond quality and make of metal) as the engagement ring was not purchased with Spence Diamonds, they assured us all would be the same. We received our ring in February 2012 and got married in June 2012. Two weeks after wearing my ring my finger started reacting in a way I have never had with rings before. It swelled so bad I could not get my rings on anymore and had red bumps all over and it was extremely itchy. This took me weeks to get my finger to calm down enough to wear a ring again. What I found out is that they did not in fact match the metal type (my engagement ring was 18K and the wedding band was 19K) I am allergic to nickel and the content of nickel in their 19K gold ring was so high that I reacted. This was so disheartening to me as I cherish this ring, this is what the vows were placed on and it brings me to tears to know that I can never wear this ring again. We brought it to Spence Diamonds attention that their promises were not kept and they said there was nothing they could do as the ring was purchased too long ago to return for a full refund. They suggested coating the ring as a temporary fix (which I would need to keep up monthly/yearly all depending on when it wears off). We gave this a shot to salvage the ring, within 5 hours of putting the ring on after the coating I had the red bumps appearing again. I have put the ring away and have not worn it again as Spence Diamonds will do nothing to help us out. I wanted a full refund for the cost of the coating because it clearly did not work and the cost of the ring! Throughout this whole ordeal we tried contacting the manager and to this date we have still not spoken with her. We got her schedule from a receptionist and showed up in their showroom, she was not in at the time (even though she was scheduled to be) every time we called it was she was not in or she was in meetings or out for lunch, any excuse you could think of we were given. We are not impressed and are not recommending Spence Diamonds to anyone we talk to. We have multiple friends getting engaged and married over the next few years and have steered them clear of this store!
My husband bought me a gorgeous engagement ring from Spence in Edmonon. The staff never told him that there was a matching wedding band. When we went in to look at wedding bands they showed me the ring that matched. Both my husband and I disliked the band shown. They talked us out of getting any other band as it wouldn't match my ring properly. They informed us that we had 30 days to return the ring. We live 6 hours away from the city. I got my ring in 2 weeks and I still didn't like it. When I returned the ring in 2 and a half weeks later they said it was past my 30 days and that the 2 weeks it took to get to me counted in the 30 days. I was in tears and the manager did nothing for me except tell me the ring was beautiful even when I said it was ugly. I have had it for over a year and it doesn't match to my ring. It has scratched and damaged my engagement ring. I will never go there again and I have since told all if my friends and family to avoid getting their rings there. Sorry Spence, but you need Better customer service!
I love it at spence diamonds. We can try on anything you want!! I get ignored at alot of places since I am shopping for a ring for my girlfriend, ( I am a woman). But they treated me so well there. I have recommended them to all my friends. Personally I was helped by Tara!!
We bought a wedding ring set at Spence in 2005. The wedding band has a huge diamond in it, and it is the main focus of the ring. We had it in to get the claws checked and the rings polished and they notified us the whole diamond is cracked and has chips in it. When my husband brought it in we were told the diamond has a life-time warrenty and that they would fix it. Now two weeks later we get a call it is not under warrenty and we need to come in to buy a new diamond. How can they not know what their own warrenty is?
Does this even sound like it makes sense. What kind of diamond just cracks and chips? I didn't even wear the ring through 2 pregnancies so it was worn for less than 5 years. I am an accountant, it is not like I am doing a heavy labor job while wearing it.
We had also put down a deposit on my husbands wedding band. They phoned us later and said they couldn't make it in his size and that we would have to drive all they way back to the store to get our credit card refunded. We live nearly an hour away, so this was a 2 hour drive to go back for the refund. Why they just couldn't do it manually I have no idea!
Not at all impressed with the store and will never shop there again!
