BEST SMASH BURGER IN TORONTO HANDS DOWN!!! Favourite is the double original burger and both style fries are to die for!! You will not eat a smash burger better than this in Toronto. I will say I am not a fan of the cheese fries and the banana pudding isn’t anything special either, I have also tried some of their other deserts and burger styles but the original double and fries combo will always be the best!
We went to Burger Drops in Liberty Village on September 12, 2025 at 5:24 p.m.
We ordered, waited and took our order home.
My girlfriend ordered the American Burger with bacon. Key word: with bacon. Guess what it showed up without? Yep, no bacon. Just a regular burger playing dress-up as the “American.” That’s like ordering a Netflix subscription and only getting commercials.
I went with the Original Burger. At first bite, decent enough. But halfway through, I got a surprise side order of mystery bone. Twice. Nothing like chewing your way through what feels like beef mixed with gravel. I didn’t chip a tooth, but it honestly felt unsafe to eat (see the photo).
The curly fries? Solid. Greasy, sure, but crispy and actually tasty. Honestly, the fries carried the entire meal, which is tragic since the name of the place isn’t “Curly Fry Drops.”
The burgers themselves? Wet, greasy, and about as exciting as watching paint dry, if the paint occasionally had bone shards in it. Taste score? A generous 4. After the bony surprise? More like a 1.
Final verdict: Unless you like playing Russian roulette with your molars, skip Burger Drops in Liberty Village. It’s not worth the dental risk or the disappointment.
I’ve reported this to Toronto Public Health as a food safety concern.
Update September 19th 2025:
The owner of Burger Drops responded by email with surprise and apologies. He offered a $45 gift certificate, which we declined, but we did agree to reimbursement for the order via Interac and provided our email address.
As of September 19th, no reimbursement has been received. It’s possible he reconsidered after Toronto Public Health inspected the premises.
Update: reimbursed for the exact cost of the meal on Sept 21st, 2025 via Interac.

Got the double American with fries. Size of the sandwich is huge compared to most smash burger places. Meat was juicy, toppings and sauces were a great addition but not overpowering as to take away from the burger but rather compliment it. Fries were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and seasoned lightly. Staff is friendly and chatty while you wait for your food. A definite must try if you're in the area, and even worth the trip from further away.
I came all the way from the East End after a friend recommended Burger Drops, and I’m so glad I did! As a vegan, I was hesitant at first, but the staff were incredibly welcoming and patient—even with a long line behind me. They helped me choose the perfect order, and it turned out to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I went back again the following week, showed a photo of what I ordered, and they recreated it perfectly—same amazing taste! Always a lineup here, but totally worth it. Highly recommend!
Amazing burgers, top notch sauce and beautiful decor. In such a nice place and the theming is really on point. Never had such a good tasting burger in a while and the prices were very fair. I strongly reccomend coming here!
Smashing IT! 😋🍔😋
WOW! Just absolutely WOW! I have found the golden mountain that contains some of the best burgers in the city!
This new burger joint called Burger Drops can be found located in trendy Liberty Village jus a few steps away from King Street West.
Burger Drops serving some of the best smashed burgers, fries and delectable ONION RINGS!
There's a reason why Burger Drops is always busy and that's because the food is just amazing!
Great customer service as well.
So if you're looking to treat yourself after a hard day at the office then hop onto that King Street Car or the 63 Ossington Bus and make your way to Burger Drops!
Your taste buds will thank you that you did!
YUM!

Was finally in the Parkdale area, so I had to try Burger Drops. I see why this shop is constantly rated amongst the best burgers in Toronto. Everything is fresh and made to order. The hamburger is filling, and they don't skimp on toppings. The Mocha Pie is the best. Definitely get one when you go.
Wow! Came here based on any people hyping this place and I see why. Menu was very simple but very effective! We got the American Double Burger and could’ve had 2 more! Everything about the burger was amazing from the meat, topping, sauce, etc. Rosie’s was my favourite but now I have to give it to burger drops! Amazing work, can’t wait to come back and try the green chilis burger!!! The lady serving us was very polite and helped us decide on what to get as first timers.
One of my favourite burger spots in Liberty village! Burgers were perfectly seasoned, bun wasn’t soggy, and fries were fresh and crisp.
The only thing I would say to pass on is their banana foster pudding. Not a big fan of the flavour or texture.
Very limited seating and parking so keep that in mind before coming!
Overall, 5/5 for food and I’m definitely coming back!

Was craving a good burger so decided to try out burger drops. Was my first time so had the original double patty with curly fries. Really enjoyed the smash burger but make sure you’re hungry because it is heavy! The banana pudding was also very good.
Killer little hidden away but still easy to find burger spot in TO. We caught it at a great time and were actually able to find a seat. They make a mean smash burger that somehow avoids being greasy yet still flavourful.
Don’t sleep on the cheesy curly fries with jalapeño relish, perfect combo with a burger. Just wish they offered fountain pop, would be the perfect combo with this meal.. but cans will do

This place was phenomenal! That's an absolute hidden gem and I would definitely recommend this to my friends! The burger tasted so good and was cooked perfectly while the onion rings were super crispy. The front of the restaurant was very kind and even offered a crueller to me on Saturday. I was very impressed with the friendly staff and will be coming back again!
Tried both burgers and really enjoyed both! The smash burger had the crisp edges while still being tender and juicy. Ketchup relish was really tasty and the buns were fresh and fluffy. We got the fries with the cheese sauce but in the future, we’d get the plain curly fries. The sauce got too heavy, and solidified not too long after it was prepared. The curly fries alone tasted really good though. A great spot for smash burgers!
I love Burger Drops. They’ve added a green chilli burger to the menu which has been a great addition. I’ve had both the beef and veggie options and I can’t recommend them enough. I also love their desserts, I thought nothing could top their banana pudding but their new addition, Mocha Pie is insane.
I’ve eaten at Burger Drops… a lot. I’ve had burgers from all over, and none compare. Whether dining in or taking out, the service has always ranged from good to great—never disappointing. This Liberty Village gem is a top 2 burger spot in Toronto… and it’s not number 2. If you’re in the area and craving a burger, this is the place. Visiting from out of town? Make sure it’s on your list.
