In May I was offered a teaching job at Oxford House. I booked my flight in July for August 21, 21010. I was very organized and did it before the other teachers. When I arrived at the airport they began to ticket my baggage but then said I was supposed to fly on August 16. I did not budge but pleasantly told them I had booked in July. In the end they said, "You are lucky there are two planes today and we can give you a ticket. " I didn't complain as I had flown all the way from Northern Ontario and I had my dog with me and lots of luggage. However, I did inform my boss who told me that was the date August 16, 2010 that he paid for my flight and Perimeter must have mixed it up. In addition, when I booked my flight on the phone the salesperson said I had to pay for my dog as she would be taking up a seat. They made her fly cargo and this was not explained to me.... She was very frightened as she had never been in a crate before. They told me that she could fly in the plane with me with the proper crate which I then purchased.

On September 19, 2010 I paid for a flight to and from Winnipeg on my Visa. I flew on Oct. 8, 2010. When I got to the hotel, I could not find my ticket. I looked high and low but as I had paid by my visa and secured my flight I thought I would be forgiven. Understand that I had a dog, a crate, luggage and it was dark and I didn't know where I was going in Winnipeg as it is strange city to me.

I looked everywhere for the ticket. My husband and I were meeting in Winnipeg for Thanksgiving. We have not had a holiday in so long, the Terrace Bay Mill had been closed for 18 months. I had to go out of province to work as we had no money.

I am 51 years old, I have two degrees and a diploma . I have raised three children. I am a very responsible citizen . I have never lost anything in my life.

When I got to the airport the ticket girl saw my name on the computer . She tagged my luggage. She told me my dog would be flying on the plane with me and I would have to buy her a ticket as she would be taking up a seat. I said that they made my dog go in cargo last time and I didn't understand. I told her I lost the ticket I had purchased. She said that she had to have the yellow ticket. She went to her boss, who said I had to buy another ticket. I can not believe this, she said if I had bought a regular one they would accomodate me but not with the advance ticket. When I purchased the advance ticket they told me if I missed my flight or wanted to change dates or times I would have to pay. Nobody said if I don't have the paper I couldn't fly.

I think this is outrageous as I booked my first ticket on line with no ticket. I flew with West Jet to Winnipeg with no ticket. As I had paid and it was on line and there was proof on the computer that I had prebooked and paid I think this is a very shameful way to treat a costumer.
And by the way after I paid again my dog was put in cargo even though there was room in the plane, there were empty seats.

Is this how perimeter makes money? Taking advantage of people in bad situations?

I fully intend to fight all the way to get my money back. If I have to go to my MP, the paper or the better business bureau, I will.

Your motto is putting Aboriginal people first.... I feel like why would anyone teach up here if this is the kind of hassle you get when you need to go home or see a loved one. What if I have a family emergency?

I have lost all confidence in your airline. As there is no other was to Oxford House except in the airline it is obvious that I need to feel I can rely on you. I can see why people don't stay up North when it is such a problem to travel. I wish that you would consider that there are children who need good teachers here and this kind of lack of concern for individuals can affect more than just one person.
