Went on a Monday afternoon and it was completely dead! I would totally suggest going there then as I can imagine during the week it’s crazy busy.
Got a breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño biscuit and it was phenomenal as well as the jalapeño cheddar sausage which was also delicious. My friend got the breakfast wrap which she also said was amazing.

Cute spot in Toronto for brunch. The food was quite unique, but portions looked pretty small for what you’re paying for.
The BLT sandwich was very good! The grilled cheese was so-so. I also had an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie which was great!!
P.S. if anyone was interested:
Lazy Daisy is featured in the coxwell-Gerrard docuserie, in which the owner insulted the classic Coffee Time we used to have in the neighbourhood for bringing in “unwanted clientele” 😅

Highly recommend the cinnamon roll pancakes. Such a delicious treat. The maple syrup is a bit excessive but so so good!
Great biscuits and great full breakfast. Amazing staff. It can be a long wait though.
Lazy daisy is one of our favourite breakfast spots in this neighbourhood. Today we were advised of a 35 minute wait for a table for two but were able to sit at the counter right away. We had the rise & fry, son of a rise, and a short stack of cinnamon bun pancakes (2). Everything was delicious. For both sandwiches we agreed that the biscuit was the best part. We would definitely recommend and be back
Lazy daisy’s is a go to for east end brunch! I love that a lot (if not, all) their eggs and meats are locally sourced.
The food is always spot on!
The servers are super friendly and attentive, even when it’s super busy. (If you go in the weekend, be prepared to wait for a table as they do get busy)
I love the breakfast burrito, and the breakfast sandwhich on their biscuit.
Mac and cheese also is delicious.
I also got a strawberry matcha the other day and it was super yum!

Zero stars but no option - for terribly rude team of servers, really inefficient staff and extremely unprofessional. Once we got the table after 1 hours of wait, they took forever to deliver the sad quality of food and my kid was served a wrong order despite that we requested to serve the kids first as they were hungry. I reminded them for 30 mins about the wrong order, they saw my kid crying and were laughing at the situation. I have never witnessed this situation ever in my life and I hope it never happens again to my kid and us. Mistakes happen but instead of fixing the problem - it’s a terrible thing to make a joke of the situation or give mean looks to the customers and delay the request even more intentionally is super horrible.
I feel disappointed to spend a lot on this cafe for years. Please never go to this place if you have kids and would like to have a nice time with them in a good environment!

Had their Son-Of-A-Rise breakfast sandwich which was egg, bacon, avocado and also tried their Biscuits with Sausage Gravy, with eggs on top, and then a side of fried Chicken thigh.
I'll break it all down for you starting with the biscuits and Gravy. First off , I understand that biscuits and gravy is not always the most appealing dish to order in terms of presentation, but to be honest when the plate was placed in front of me, i was strongly put off by the look. I'm a huge foodie, and was excited to give this a place a try, some put aside the initial negative impression and dug right in!
The gravy didn't not have a normal "gravy" texture, it was more like an oatmeal texture, almost goopy. To be frank it wasn't that the gravy was off-putting in terms of taste, rather, it was that it just had NO flavor! I had to hit it with a good amount of salt, black pepper and hot sauce to taste anything. Couldn't taste the sausage in the gravy but I assume there was some there, which is what I presume gave it that "oatmeal" type of texture with all the chunks. The biscuit was not enjoyable because it didn't hold up well with the oatmeal , I mean gravy! The biscuit was all mushy, so couldn't get to enjoy the biscuit much, which is what they're known for. The eggs on top were unseasoned, dry and lacked flavor.
The dish came with a side of tomato slices which I found an odd pairing but out of the entire dish the tomatoes were probably the most redeeming part of the dish as it was a nice escape from the tasteless gravy and biscuits. The tomato was also firm and fresh tasting, not mealy or sour , which was nice.
Ok so for the fried chicken. Let's start with the positive. The chicken was moist, a decent size, and was de-boned, which made it easy to eat. The problem was that again there was no flavor in the chicken. I'm not a stickler for complex Michelin star flavour profiles here, I really just wanted the thing to be properly seasoned with, maybe some salt ? The chicken tasted like there was not even any seasoning used in the batter. It was similar to the gravy - just BLAND. The crust was crunchy, and flaky, but I found most of it fell off while you tried to eat it. Again I added some salt and black pepper to try and "create" some flavour here. Didn't happen.
I only had two bites of the breakfast sandwich so won't spend too much time here. No major positives or negatives other than again, it just honestly lacked flavour.
The service? The service I would say is inconsistent. It took forever for our waitress to come to us to take our order. However I noticed folks seated after us , had their server come to them right away and take their orders. It's a bit chaotic in there, so perhaps that's where the problem is. We went on a weekend and it does get very busy, and loud. This is not the place you want to go to enjoy a calm atmosphere and be able to have a conversation with the people you're dining with. You can tell this is very much a neighborhood type of diner, with regulars, families and small children. This is probably one of the only redeeming qualities that it feels like it's a very mom-and-pop community oriented place to dine, so I'll give it that.
If you're in the neighborhood, and there's no wait, sure try it out. But do not go out of your way to dine here. Food is bland, it's over -hyped, and the food is kinda forgetful, with inconsistent service. Again, the food wasn't horrible it was just nothing to rave about. "Basic" and and "mid" are the two terms that come to mind when I think of this place.

Longtime fan of this place and its absolutely heavenly buttermilk biscuits that are somehow crispy, chewy, crumbly, and crazily buttery in all the right places.
Haven't been in awhile so got the Mother Clucker delivered, and liked it: Fried chicken was tender and juicy, a bit overly coated and charred for my taste, but nicely spiced. Grandma's bread was soft yet crisped perfectly and super tasty. And the jalapeño cheddar, butter and pickles just accentuated the sweet spicy taste of the sandwhich.
Overall, this place is a consistent yum.

Not Smashing IT! 🤢
Overrated.
By far the worst customer experience I've ever experienced at a restaurant.
I was able to get a table right away.
But the waitress took an excessively long time to come to my table.
The waitress brings me a menu and some bottled water. Doesn't even ask me if I want coffee.
I wait an incredibly long time for the waitress to come back.
The waitress takes my order.
I wait a long time some more.
Waitress finally brings me the coffee and orange juice that I ordered, but several minutes later.
The coffee isn't filled to the top, and it's cold. Coffee is lacking that star quality. Shame.
The freshly squeezed orange juice didn't taste like freshly squeezed OJ. Tasted kind of watered down.
I waited a long time and noticed that a table that arrived after me is served their food before me.
After waiting 28 minutes, my food comes out.
I had the following:
Home Fries - horrible old, over cooked and dry. Not edible. I tell the waitress she doesn't give a care. The plate was chipped!
Buttermilk Pancakes - OK. Too sweet. Just average.
Egg Brito - OK. Runny with red color liquid. It's not a good look.
Not once did the waitress come to my table and ask how everything was.
No top up of coffee.
The food looks great but don't be fooled by the pictures. The food was not worth the visit.
When I was done, the waitress just took the plates. Doesn't even ask if I would like some more coffee or if I would like to order some dessert. 🙄
I would have been happier had I gone to McDonald's. At least their coffee is hot and hash browns cooked to order. Nice and fresh.
Also the restaurant is cold.
Turn on the heat!
Bad food. Cold coffee and really bad waitstaff.
This is the type of restaurant that makes you realize that cooking at home is really where it's at.
Save your money.
Avoid the cold coffee and just OK food. There's no wow factor.
I was even charged for the non edible fries that I didn't eat that I had returned to the kitchen!

Confused about the low ratings for this place and feel compelled to write a good one to make up for them! Delicious, homemade food served with a smile. Comments about small portions — what did you order?! We had the pancake stack and Motherclucker and the portions are more than enough for one person! Delicious food. We’ll be back
Food- incredibly fresh and high quality! Their prices are so affordable and the product has me wanting to come back every chance I get!
Service- could not be friendlier! So attentive and sweet!
Atmosphere - clean, bright with a cozy aesthetic
10/10 expect to see me again!

This is an amazing brunch spot in the East York area! The homemade biscuits are literally to die for and the brunch options are such a great selection. The ingredients used are so fresh and curated with care. It’s a great spot and the atmosphere is very welcoming. My one little bother was that the home fries were not home made! Everything else was so fresh I was hoping for the same! This should not deter anyone from going though as the options they have are fantastic. Photos speak for itself.

Sometimes I dream of a myself sleeping on a fluffy stack of buttermilk pancakes, each layer gently cooked to an eye-catching golden colour and moist texture that offers just a bit of chew. The cream cheese frosting and sweet maple syrup are balanced with a subtly tangy undertone from the buttermilk and a mild cinnamon spice perfumed throughout each bite. Since you're here, might as well grab their signature buttermilk biscuits, which match their vibe perfectly.

This is a cute cafe in the Little India area serving up brunch made with local/Canadian ingredients.
As their name suggests, there's daisies throughout their restaurants.
I personally really enjoy their buttermilk biscuits and therefore always go for their sandwiches. I tried the Son of a Rise and Rise 'N' Shine. They're the perfect portion and definitely makes a great meal.
Be prepared to wait a bit for a table. The times I've visited, the wait was between 10 minutes to half an hour which isn't bad.
There's also plenty of free and paid street parking in the area. There's also shops in the area for you to kill time while you wait for a table.

Lovely brunch spot, the home fries were well seasoned, crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. The orange juice was sweet and refreshing and very fresh. However the sandwiches left more to be desired, would have loved more seasoning and flavour. The matcha latte was also just ok. Overall though, it was a decent enough meal.
First time here today and it’s very high in my recommend list. Great spot with great food and good service.
They opened up the patio today and it was glorious, nice little spot to sit down and enjoy breakfast outdoors.
Coffee is great with a selection of filter to late etc. they homemade buttermilk biscuits are delicious and the chicken is crispy (and not oily).
Decent potions and you can always ask for another biscuit on the side!
Parking can be limited, it’s also located in a busy little area that has some amazing stores you might wanna check out.
We hade:
The rise and fry,
Biscuits and gravy
Due south
Spicy as cluck
