Morgex Insurance Group, Edmonton Reviews (3)
I've been a Morgex customer for over 20 years, insuring my home and three of my own vehicles. My two daughters and my son are also insured through Morgex. All of us have excellent driving records, have never missed a payment, and have always been honest with Morgex.
Then last month, my eldest daughter had a discrepancy in her account in which she was overcharged. She attempted to contact a Morgex agent only to find it almost impossible because the phone lines are continuously busy. When my daughter eventually did get through and explained the situation, the agent admitted a mistake on the part of the company and promised to rectify the situation. Numerous phone calls and months later, nothing has been done about refunding my daughter's over payment.
This company will smilingly take your cash, but they will run and hide if you ever have to collect what you are owed.
If you want honesty, reliability, and good customer service stay away from this company!

This company is awful. Last year, someone scraped my car while they were parking. They were honest and came forward. It was a very straight forward incident, yet somehow Morgex made it a long drawn out process. Every single time I called, I had to wait over 10 minutes. On numerous occasions, my agents would promise to call back within the hour (or day), and I would not hear from her until I called back days later. The phone staff were NEVER apologetic for the hassle or long wait time. Within the few months the claim took to close, my agent was "away from the office" for several days on end.
I tried calling today to inquire about my upcoming insurance premium and was on the phone for 15 minutes without being able to reach an agent. The only reason I am not switching companies is because the union I belong to gets a discount. Other than that, they are awful and have terrible service.

It has been my experience with this compnay, that this company is in the practice of supplying quotes for insurance and then months later sending you a substantial bill for some other fees.
I purchased Errors and Omminssions insurance from Morgex ($3700 for 1 yr.)in Edmonton .Price was all in, final price. At the time I was getting quotes from other insurance brokers. Morgex came in $100 under the Cooperators (my existing insurance company. I went with Morgex because of the lower price. After the deal was done, a few months later they send me a bill for $250 supposedly for some service fee that was not disclosed in the beginning "all in" quote. I talked to the account manager Dawn, and they agreed it was not disclosed in the beginning. They agreed to not charge the fee. They would take care of it and not charge the additional fee.
I only needed the insurance for a project for that year. I did not need to renew the insurance. Since I did not renew the insurance, I recently received a collection notice from a collection agency for the $250 fee. Stating that they have been asigned to collect this outstanding debt. If not collected then it will be a bad debt on my companies credit rating. This is a damaging thing for any business. This is unacceptable the way this company does business.
I do special projects from time to time quite often. If they were a decent company, they would have definetly received my future business (which would have been substantialy worth more than $250 the unsubtantiated fee.
So I caution all businesses that are considering purchasing any insurance from this company to maybe go to a more trustworthy company.
