The Gladstone Hotel houses contemporary ideas in historic digs. Located between Toronto’s trendy West Queen West and alternative Park dale neighborhoods, the hotel functions as a meeting place for local creators, travelers and tenants of counterculture from near and far. Creativity and collaboration are the foundation of the hotel’s 37 artist designed hotel rooms, dynamic venue spaces, rotating art exhibitions, inventive dining options and year-round cultural programming.
I thought my hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very happy and helpful.
The Gladstone has a great atmosphere and a supportive crowd BUT if you want to sing Karaoke it's just way too busy and the Karaoke Jockey (KJ) doesn't spread the singing out evenly.
Knowing how busy it is at the Gladstone, me and my friends (eight of us) went 2 hours early at 8 pm to get seats and have dinner. When the singing started only 3 of us put in songs to sing, the first two put songs in right away.
At 12:30 none of us had sung, meanwhile the KJ called other singers up twice and we think we say one other person up for her 3rd song - so we were not impressed with this.
Next time we will go to a less busy place with a KJ who distributes the songs better.

This is a fabulous place. Gorgeous atmosphere. British Colonialism meets the hip Queen Street West area of Toronto. This hotel has been restored to it's original charm. There are a few different restaurants, live music rooms and a great little spot with comfortable booths to hang out in The Melody Bar. Great eats, live music and karaoke, fun!
It is rare that you can actually revisit the bar that is responsible for your headache the next day and have them make you a coffee to help cure it.
This is the case at the Gladstone Hotel - literally its the same bar that they make the drinks at that houses the espresso maker.
Open earlier then most other coffee shops around my house, these guys make a great latte and they are just steps away from the Dufferin Bus stop that I need to wait at for work.
They also use GreenShift biodegradable cups- kat.n49.ca loves 'em, and so should we all!!!
