Medicine Hat Lodge & Hotel

My husband and I went to Medicine Hat for our Honeymoon in August 08'. Family and friends recommended this hotel, so we looked it up and it was reasonably priced so we booked. We arrived after 4pm and our room was not clean and had no towels so we called the front desk and went for supper. When we came back we had towels but the room was filthy. I went down to the desk and asked for a bottle of cleaner and a rag to clean it myself. They brought me a bottle labeled " bathroom cleaner" that was blue and smelt like windex and I cleaned the room myself. That night my husband was showering and the mirror fell off the door and we found mold in the bathroom (which explained why we both had felt ill since returning to the room). I advised the front desk and showed them pictures and they said that someone would come and talk a look at it. I realize no company will willingly admit there is mold is a suite but you also shouldn't deny it. Maintenance said they would have the cleaner come in and clean it. He got her attention but she would come into the room to see the problem. He grabbed a bottle of bathroom cleaner off her cart and tried to show her again and she left (She didn't speak any english and seemed terrified of him) His bottle of bathroom cleaner was pink, but we both had bottles with the same MSDS sheets on them. After this we spoke to the night manager and told him about all the problems and he offered us another room, we looked at it and it was still dirty and the next room and the next room. We found the hotel across the street had a vacancy and switched hotels. The manager did refund our money but it was a terrible experience. The hotel was nowhere near clean or in good repair.
