Terrible terrible experience I had taken my grandmother to this hospital 3 times and everytime the doctors we dealt with were very rude and showed no empathy my grandmother has dementia and has declined a great deal has had 3 UTI within 3 month period and keep discharging her and then we ended up going back again because she was have frequent boul movements threw the day and night for 14 days they discharged knowing that she may also have colon cancer, and I had to take the responsibility looking after her temporary due to the fact her building wanted her gone because she has declined since I'm only family member left looks after her. Since she's been staying with me my daughter who is 4 and my husband and myself would be woken up by screaming of night terror 3 months now only 3 hours a sleep a night only it has affected my family more importantly my child who has been displaying responsive behaviors because of all this now she needs to see a child physiologist. My grandmother she is on a crisis placement for LTC and all 3 doctors I spoke indicated she needs to be in a 24 hour facility of care went there last time and was told off by one doctor after I expressed concern and also I can no longer look after my grandmother boy did I feel this doctors wrath he was attacking me in a sense by being abrupt rude no empathy and pretty much said I get that you are overwhelmed but what's your agenda like seriously do these doctors do not care to provide care for patients that need it they wanted me to bring her home and have her suffer along with my family never again I will walk in that hospital again never did I feel offended by this doctor and I felt like saying if you hate your job so much why are you a doctor doctors iv worked with also have compassion empathy and also take dementia seriously this hospital they take it as a joke alongside her medical condition Never never again.

I wish I could give Hospital -5 star... From Doctors to Staff this hospital is a disaster or I should say a death camp...from careless over worked employees who are just looking for overtime cash grab to careless Doctors who hardly bother to talk to patients or their relatives regarding the patients condition... I noticed every night nurses in this hospital are giving Narcotics to patients to put them in sleep and when they wake up middle of the night panicking and not remembering what was happening to them they (Nurses) get the security guards to come in and tie them up to the bed for hours and hours until their night shift is over... They are running this hospital just like a concentration camp hospital....And unfortunately there is no undercover city of Toronto or GTA inspection to to any of these Hospitals to see what is going on and why so many patients are dying unnecessarily.

Since in this covaid -19 situation where many people including nurses and dr’s are helping us there are still some people from same profession who take human life as joke in Canada.

If you are in labor pain DO NOT ever take a chance to go to Etobicoke hospital,101 Humber College Blvd, Etobicoke, ON, because they will only take their own patients That's what i got the answer from the nurse and the DR who was sitting alone without any work as no patient was in that hall.I reside in Brampton and since i was feeling labour pain from many hours so my husband took me to the Etobicoke General Hospital at midnight. When i approached to the emergency reception the nurse asked me if my DR belongs to this hospital then i said my DR belongs to Richmond hill hospital which is really far and i am in labour pain so I came here. She said YOU SHOULD GO TO RICHMOND HILL hospital.Due to the pain i could not talk much so my husband insisted that he can not take a chance to drive further ,After insisting the nurse asked me to go to the room so that i can be checked .In few minutes she came and during checkup she was so harsh and said since she think its just a pain and asked us to leave the hospital now and go home but upon insisting that we don't want to take chance in this pain and covid-19 situation she went to the dr and after talking to dr the nurse said lady dr asked take some pain killer and go back to home.I asked the same nurse whose name is : ASHLEY LOLA what you think the time of the delivery then she said it can be in few hours or afternoon then i said i can pay for the room since i don't want to take a chance but the nurse denied and told us to leave now .When i asked ok what ever the dr said about leaving just give us in writing then she asked the dr and dr said we do not give anything in writing. During all these conversations my wife was still in pain from 1 hour. Then i asked i want to talk to the DR directly then she said wait she will asked the dr to come.We were waiting in room for another 15 minutes no one came so i went outside to the reception where this nurse Ashley was sitting relax in front of computer and talking to her colleague then i asked since my wife is in pain and dr suggested her pain killer so please give her pain killer then the nurse ASHLEY said since i insist to talk to the dr now when the dr will come then she will only give pain killer. So after another few minutes of waiting i went to the reception and asked why the dr is not coming as i can not see my wife in labour pain then nurse told the dr is standing right beside her. So after i requested the dr came to the room and told me that it is just a normal pain so she can not admit her but she can give her painkiller and asked us to leave now. Same nurse gave my wife painkiller and i asked can you provide my wife water to take this pill then Ashley the nurse told in harsh tone " ITS DOWN THE HALLWAY TAKE IT YOURSELF " and then she left . Since i don't want to waste more time talking with these well paid employees of hospital who are just there to get their paycheque so i took my wife and went back home . After 3 hours early morning at 4.30 am my wife said the painkiller did not work and her pain is getting worst. So this time i took her to the Richmond hill hospital which is 45 minutes drive from Brampton. Richmond hill Hospital's nurses and dr took care of my wife very well and finally my baby came to this world, But because of many hours of pain my wife loost the strength and her body became so weak. Now i am talking care of my wife and my baby and took the few days off from my work. Why i am posting this? Because if some one else posted it as their experience then it would have saved not only our time but also in the first place my wife could be taken care by good hands.Yes, The situation could go more worst while coming back to home or at home but thank god he saved my wife and my baby life. Now we are left with life time bad memory which can not be cured and i don't want that same bad experience another mom and dad should have.

My elderly mother spent 2.5 months in this hospital after a fall in which she broke her hip. I must say that the health care she received was excellent for the most part, but the administrative staff there are an absolute nightmare. They are the most unprofessional and incompassionate people I have ever run across and we have seen many hospital staff over the past several years. Who calls up a patients daughter (my mother was in a rehab unit) and asks how much money her mother has? Why does a discharge coordinater give the patient the news that she will not walk again instead of a healthcare professional,..and then advise that she needs 24/7 care and has a week to get out and find it. I had many a frustrating time in working through this situation with my mother. The final straw is that the patient experience phone number on their website is incorrect (I called it 2x and left messages and the same number returned my call and advised me she was a private citizen in a private residence). I had called to make arrangements to pay a bill because no one in the billing department answers the phone there. EGH was advised of the wrong ph number on Feb 29 and again on Mar 2 and here is is, a month later and nothing has been corrected. Unbelievably poor patient experience and service. Stay very far away if you can.

I had to go to the emergency last year for high BP. It was going from low to high the whole day, never experienced that before. I had to go the cardiac unit on the main floor. The male doctor with a strong accent was very rude to me, treated me with no dignity whatsoever. Because I couldn't pronounce the name of a medication he referred to me as stupid and talked to very slow to me like I was a child. I'm a grown adult who was worried about why my BP was constantly going from low to high. The nurses were treating me in the waiting room INFRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE. 0 privacy. Worst hospital ever, avoid it at all costs.

I think this hospital needs a face lift both cosmetically and in communication. I had a parent admitted and think the hospital is lacking in communication with patients and family of. I would never come to this hospital willingly. Emergency services personel not not but the drugs are not locked up, they are easily accesible and in today's society that is not safe. I think the nurses are great but we have to remember that if the doctors have poor communication with them they cannot in turn be very knowledgeble to answer question.
DR. V.J of the cardiology department is very poor in communcation and speaks very too fast and unclear. Should not be dealing with patients.
