Dr. Rania A Habib serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery / Pharmacology at Penn Dental Medicine. She obtained her DDS from the University of Minnesota in 2009 and went on to receive her MD from the University of Maryland in 2012. In 2013, Dr. Habib completed her internship in General Surgery at University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Trauma Center, where she also completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Residency two years later. She then worked in a busy private practice at Maryland Oral Surgery Associates from 2015-2017. Rediscovering her love for pediatric surgery, Dr. Habib then completed a full scope fellowship in 2018 in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery at the University of Florida, Jacksonville. Prior to joining Penn, she served as the first female Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University. She performs full scope Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery including complex extractions, orthognathic surgery, trauma reconstruction, facial reconstruction, non-surgical facial rejuvenation (Botox and fillers), office based anesthesia and resection of benign oral, head and neck pathology. She is most passionate about providing pediatric multidisciplinary cleft and craniofacial care and some of her favorite operations include facial reconstruction for cleft lip/palate, distraction osteogenesis and skull reconstruction for craniosynostosis.
