THE TRUTH
Some Staff just don’t get it with this company. I am one of those staff who tried to Unionize Protegra Inc. and am still here. When I started to work here, I realized that what I was doing was wrong and went to Management and told them what was going on. And I am still here. I am still here, because I realize and I get it what the company is trying to do. All the company cares about IS the client and the staff. I have even helped in the head office and have seen staff try to take advantage of this company and especially with the woman you talk about. I have seen staff lie and play their weird games. All this company wants staff to do is do their work and care about the people they work with and for. Staff don’t have to gossip, and believe that gossip. That’s what you are doing, you are writing about gossip. What I have learnt working with this company and head office is unless you were there, you don’t know what ACTUALLY happened. I have seen Staff come and go and for lots of good reasons. I have worked with some of these staff and know first hand why they aren’t here anymore, and it has made my job as a caregiver easier so I can pay attention to my client. If you are/were one of them, thanks for leaving, now I can concentrate on my client and not have to worry about coming to work in a negative environment! It’s staff that causes problems, management is just there to make sure that you do your job. And by the way........ the lady you talk about...... there was a reason why she was nominated for Woman of the Year by staff and clients!

from a current staff
Know one gets it with this company! I am one of those staff who tried to Unionize Protegra and am still here. What I did was wrong, will admit it and am still here. Once I started to work for this company, I realizd that the care of the clients and staff came first and that's why I still work here. I have even helped out at the head office and have seen staff try to take advantage of this company and especially of the woman that you talk about. With this company their rules are very easy, go to work and do your job. What you have written about is only gossip. What I have learnt working with this company and the head office is unless you were there, you don't ACTUALLY know what has REALLY happened. As for the rest of us staff who REALLY care about the clients and the company, I will continue to support Protegra because of their "HIGH ETHICS and MORAL standards". I have seen staff come and go and for lots of good reasons. I have worked with some of these staff and know first hand why they aren't here any more, and it has made my job a lot easier and a better workplace to come to, so I can enjoy my job much better. If you were one of those staff, thanks for leaving, now I can concentrate on my client and not have to worry. I also know that any staff saying bad things about this company were fired for a reason and not just "because". As for the woman you talk about, you have no idea what she goes thru on a daily basis to help her clients and staff. You have not given "a fair" review of this company!

From the perspective of a staff member
I was a staff at this company for 7 years. They are highly unethical with their staff. I even heard several rumors of attempts at unionizing. All three staff involved in this unionizing attempt were let go within the following two months. I witnessed many staff let go because they had been there too long and their salaries were too high, replaced by less experienced, lower paid employees. I witnessed several staff members promoted to positions they were not qualified for simply because they were cheaper than hiring qualified staff (including myself who was made CRW2 within two weeks, despite no education nor experience). I witnessed several breaches of privacy, primarily by a woman who is/was highly ranked in the company. In fact most ethical concerns with this company are directly related to her. I will not name her to protect her privacy, anyone who has worked there will know immediately who I'm talking about anyway. I know of one incident where she lured a male staff to flirt with her so she could fire him based on sexual harassment. She wore provocative clothing and flirted with him to elicit the flirtation, then bragged about her scheme afterward. She's like a cat, she likes to toy with people before going in for the kill. She fired one staff because the door was locked when she arrived and she had to knock to get in. She accused the staff of deliberately locking her out. It wasn't even that staff member who had locked the door, at 9pm, an appropriate time to have a door locked. In fact, she was there in an official capacity as landlord, but had not given the legally required 24 hour notice of entry, and should have been locked out anyway. I witnessed a number of other inappropriate infractions by her and others.
Please don't get me wrong, the clients are primarily well treated. It is the staff that are abused here. The clients are often protected from management by their staff, many of whom (like myself) chose to stay in their positions, despite the abuse, because they really care about the individuals they work with.

Fabulous
Absolutely fantastic! This company has helped our family become whole. They were kind, thoughtful, respectful and truly amazing. Protegra helped us out in a phenomenal way that no one else could at the time. We have them to thank for the battle that was won regarding custody of our daughter.

5 stars is least they deserve!

Protegra is a great company
I have no idea where the other user gets thier info from, it cannot be farther from the truth. My dealings with Protegra have been nothing but positve, they have great buisness ethics and treat thier staff and clients with nothing but respect, after all they have been in buissness for over 19 years so they must be doing something right :)
