Challenger Homes Inc
I bought a home that the original home owner built through Challenger Homes. It has been a challenge. The issues may seem small at first but when so many little flaws in the home add up it makes me think, do they even know what they are doing. There have been issues with plumbing from pipe connections to the finishing of fixtures and gas lines left too long behind the stove and on the deck. All three toilets have had to be repaired due to constant running. Electrical plugs and switches that are loose and the boxes they are in also loose, paint that is not finished in so called tough places, screws in the drywall cracking, holes in the drywall around light octagon boxes that were cut too big and not fixed, same with some of the receptacle holes. Almost everywhere you step there are creaks and snaps from the framing, especially in the stairs. I don't think that any two studs in the walls are evenly spaced and the largest measurement I have found so far is twenty four inches centre to centre. The carpet layers left frays sticking out of the baseboards all over and if you dare step near the edges the nail spikes will get you good. The deck and fence are not built with quality or pride. Windows with air leaks or not fitted square, also no pride on the install. Siding piecemeal and falling off. All concrete cracking all over and chipping too easily. Recently I noticed the foundation coverage material breaking off and underneath cracking in the structure. They are not that friendly to deal with and always dodge questions blaming the sub contractors that they hired at the cheapest bid who came in and did the job as fast as they could to try to make money. No Pride in workmanship or quality control from the so called Builder! I know there are wear and tear issues with all homes and most of us out there can fix the small things and keep living. You make thousands of homes and make hundreds of thousands of dollars on each of them but can't stand by your product that you built. The government is updating the warranties because you cheap a*% builders are scamming people left and right. I will never buy Challenger again and advise everyone I know the same. Most of neighbours are not happy with them also. Set up show home, build a bunch of crap and get out of the neighbourhood. Then avoid helping residents. I guess that is the Challenger way.

CAUTION! For me, it has been two years of structural issues, endless significant deficiencies and nightmare encounters with their representative who is responsible for resolving deficiencies and defects. I am not the only one who has had this experience with Challenger homes. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DO NOT BUY A CHALLENGER HOME!
