Zones of Regulation

The name Zones of Regulation is rooted in people’s "zones" or comfort levels for different demands or external stimulation. These zones can also be thought of as having a maximum and minimum regulatory limit. All individuals exist within these zones, and we need to learn how to use strategies and behaviors to make sure we do not push beyond our lower limit nor drop below our higher limit of regulation. Our program was founded by an educational consultant who has helped thousands of children and adults identify and utilize their intrinsic strengths to develop into happy, successful individuals. Regulating is the ability to manage stress and anxiety, control feelings and impulses, and use coping strategies effectively. Regulation is a learned skill that improves with practice, so children need ample opportunities to learn regulation strategies. Zones of Regulation is an educational consultant who provides parents with a tested teaching model for social-emotional learning to help kids build these skills.
