Kari has a degree in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and a nursing degree from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She obtained her master's degree in family nursing at the University of California, Los Angeles. She then moved from Los Angeles to Denver where she met her husband. Kari is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
