Every time I come here seeking assistance from someone at the counter, they are never here. Thirty to forty five minutes waiting and it's always the same gentleman that comes strolling out of nowhere. Looking at you like, "ya what?" This place needs more staff at the counter. NO STARS 4 U!

Have increased my rent 100% in 2 years… went from $175 to $355…. My unit is currently $225 if I’m a new customer..This place is a scam .. I will be removing my stuff and going to a competitor..

Even as first time storage unit renters, we found the process simple and easy.
Although he was obviously very busy (it was Saturday), the agent at the front desk took the time to discuss our needs and show us a couple of available units so we could get a feel for what was the right size for us.
The only problem was that there is not very much parking.

Went to theb801 milner Avenue location to look at the storage and reserve it. But when i went there at 2.30 pm the door locked and the sign said. Will be back at 3 pm. Waited half an hour and no one opened the door. I knocked at the door after waiting anotherv10 min. Then a gentleman come and opened the door and said. Sorry i am in a meeting and not ablebto serve you. If you want you can wait another half an hour. I was so disappointed. They have limited business hours and i already wasted my time. This is not the type of customer service i expected. Left with frustration and its a loss for the company

Not necessarily the fault of the employee’s, but I’ve found it extremely difficult to communicate and understand their policies. I’ve been out of country and asked for over a year for the unit to be auctioned off as I had no possible way to get their and empty/cancel it.

**Title: Worst Storage Experience Ever**

This storage company is a joke. They got my contact info wrong and nearly auctioned my stuff without giving me proper notice. They called me on the day of the auction demanding immediate payment, and when I showed up, they only accepted cash or debit, claiming they don't trust people with credit cards. This is ridiculous and inconvenient.

The following month, I deliberately didn't pay on time to see if they'd use my updated contact information. At 45 days late, they left a voicemail telling me to come in and pay, saying I could use cash or card. So, I went there with my credit card, and guess what? They refused it, citing some bogus "policy."

On top of that, the staff refused to get me in touch with a manager. I had to get belligerent and rude just to get them to comply. When I asked to see their business license, which they must have to operate in the City of Toronto and as auctioneers, they refused, saying they needed some authority to show it to me. I advised that it should be posted on the wall, but they still wouldn't show it.

Their communication is a mess, their payment policies are inconsistent and unfair, and their customer service is appalling. The manager even admitted they just don't want to deal with chargebacks, but that's no excuse for misleading customers. This place is a nightmare. Avoid this storage company at all costs unless you enjoy being jerked around by incompetent fools.

Frankly I think they are more interested in auctioning units and clearing up wait lists.

I went to the self storage on centennial Rd., Highland Creek. I was greeted by Martin in the parking lot and asked how he could help me. I told him my needs and he was very professional very kind. Best service I’ve had at any business since before Covid I just want to say thank you Martin you made my summer you made my day and I appreciate everything you’ve done That’s why I’m giving you a five star thank you again. I started my lease with SmartStop storage today and it was an ease free experience. Abdullah and Ayodele were helpful in showing me my unit and also onboarding me. It was a good experience overall. I recommend this location

I wasn't sure about what level of service I was going.to receive as usually speaking over the phone vs. In-person service in alot of cases differ...well ...the process was very smooth and thorough. Thank you Ayodele for putting us at ease by addressing all of our concerns, it was top-tier service!

I have been renting units for couple of years and it have gotten so expensive every 6 mths your rent is increasing and no explanation as to what the increase is; all you see is (other fees) 12 dollars or higher etc ..honestly I would tell anyone plan on renting there have expectations of high increases every 6 mths how can a 5 x 5 unit goes from say $90 to $175 even if you have and increase that almost 100% ...these buisness don't care that is we the people that have them going because they figure if 1 leave 1 will come..

This must be known and improve better customer's service. I have 3 storages due to I sold my home and thank God I found my home so I dont have to put up with the poor customer service.I ordered a 4th storage with the intention of putting 2 smaller storage in the big unit and realized it wouldn't work basé on the advise from their customer's service. I visited the Milner store to returned the unit with in a couple days and asked to speak to à manager and were told it's impossible to speak to à manager and we will send a message for him to call you and up to date no call ftom manager.I visited the Milner store on March 25/24 to pay à storage fee and rectifie the matter of returning the 4th storage that I never used and wanted to canceled immediately but all I am hearing mam... my manager has to take care of it and give your credit back and this went on for 2wks, this fémale rep was talking down to me like à child and using words like...you going to be in big trouble if you dont pay ur account and we owe you nothing we just doing you à favour. Today March 26 I got a email from Mark Blake treathening that my possession will be auction the end of March while the account is paid in full. Let me caution you Mr. Blake, customers have rights and I will exercise my rights legally!!
I have 3 storages and awaits the credit back for the 4th storage in order to pay for the 1 storage that's 1 mth past due and it's your facility négligence by delaying the process and do not reached out or care to follow up with a customer to resolve any issue but just sending threatened email.Your staff on March 25/2024 must learn how communications and chose professional words to address customer because you will be spoken to just the same. Thank you

Minoli and Bhagya at the Milner location were very promptly, supportive and guided us to get the best locker unit as per our needs. The transaction was handled very smoothly and great service in explaining the details of the lease.

One of the CLEANEST storage unit spaces out there. No rat or cockroach infestations found here. Rasula was incredibly helpful in showing me different sized units so I could select the one best suited for my needs. Security is great, you get access daily between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm, and all the units are temperature controlled. 10/10 would recommend!

My family & I have been renting out of these units for a couple months now and have found it to be very convenient. Bhagya was helpful in getting everything situated. Catherine was also very helpful in helping me change my units and updating me on any fees i may have missed or policies i may have over looked. My only reason for not giving a 5 star is because there have been a few times where multiple elevators werent working at the same time. This made it difficult for me to move since my unit is on a higher floor and everyone was stuck using one elevator

They have increased my rent by $100 within 1 year - the store says they can't do anything and to call head office. Head office says they can't do anything, it's market conditions, and to call the store if you want to hear about the market conditions.

I will be promptly removing my items from this storage unit and going to a company that doesn't scam their customers. I highly suggest if you are going to rent a unit here you take into consideration that you will 100% be paying a much higher rent in 1 years time - what you see is not what you get.
