Crosstown Convienience/Sushi is across from my work.The new owners and staff are super nice, they even say hi to me on the street when they see me. Today I decided to go to their Sushi Restaurant that they have at the back of the store as I have never ordered from them before. I ordered Today's Special #2 It was 6 pcs California roll, 6 pcs salmon avocado and 6 pcs spicy tuna for 12.99. ( I was super hungry and CRAVing a salmon avocado roll) They made my sushi so quickly! It was cool to watch. I brought it back to my office and took a bite before I remembered to take a photo.. :) Hope you don't mind :) The sushi is delicious! Although the spicy tuna is not just spicy.. it's super hot.
I decided to pop into the sushi place across the street only to find that they have totally renovated. It looks so much better. They have also updated the look of their menu. I was craving some deep fried food so I decided to order some gyoza and shrimp tempura...they gave me some miso soup for free:) I thought how nice! Unfortunately the miso soup was not very good. It had only a few slices of green onion .. no tofu and was very bland. The gyoza was delicious! and so was the shrimp tempura. It's a bit pricey.. my lunch was 13.95
I ordered Gyoza and Avocado rolls and I have to say my rolls are the best I've ever had.. anywhere... the avocado is perfectly ripe!!
The sushi restaurant that I reviewed previously is no longer in business and is now called Zen Sushi.
Today I order my usual from their "new" restaurant, The gyoza is not that great, super small, avocado rolls were good but loosely made and the salmon sashimi that I ordered ended up being 2 pieces of salmon sushi :( NOT impressed

ok, so I ordered 2 miso soups and there was no miso paste in the soup.. it was a clear broth with seaweed and green onions... oh my :(
