Choosing to become a family medicine physician was the obvious choice for me early on in my training. I enjoy the variety involved with family medicine and the forethought it takes to juggle the chronic health care needs of complicated patients and the acute needs of those that come in for urgent appointments. Whether it is someone with multiple medical issues or just one, I enjoy the relationship I can form with that patient to work together to take control of that medical issue. My philosophy of care is very simple - I take care of my patients like I would want my mom taken care of by her doctor. I give 100% of myself to them so I want 100% back - we are an alliance - an alliance to make and keep them well. Away from work I enjoy reading, volunteering, spending time with my family and learning new things.
