I visited the store on Yonge today and while I was greeted by one lovely staff member, the other lady was just awful. I had to get past her in the aisle as she kneeling down putting stock out on a table. As I slipped past, she happened to get up at the same time so we knocked into one another a little. I actually said "sorry" and all she said was an exasperated "jesus!" as though I'd just pushed her over or much worse. She then...NOT KIDDING...looked over at me as I was preparing to leave and gave me a very dirty look. I was shocked. She needs to be reprimanded. I hope she's not the owner. I give 2.5 stars as the other lady there was great.

I was interested in finding a store in the area that carried Pierre Belvedere products. I phoned the Papery after doing a Google search. The lady on the phone was quite abrupt and I asked to speak to a manager she said “I am the manager”. After a couple brief words she then said “we’re not interested” and hung up on me like I was trying to sell her vacuum cleaner bags or something. I was shocked and obviously did not end up shopping at the store.

Event though I love the store, its note books, pens, and all the lovely products I have to say the employees need to take a course on customer service. I'm taking about the Papery at Yonge Street. After asking today to one of the employees where the umbrellas were since it was raining a lot she told me at first response, "they are too expensive" I felt like Julia Roberts in the movie Pretty Woman. I was so puzzled by her comment and couldn’t understand why she made that comment. Also at the moment of paying at the register she gave me attitude for not purchasing the extra note pads I initially picked up, she objected I shouldn't bring extra items to the register if I wouldn't pay for them. I was so close to walk out for being so rude to me- a customer- if it wasn’t for the fact that I love the store however I’m not too sure I will visit it again I would rather visit other most customer-friendly stores. For the angry woman who works there start to be polite to the people who pay for your salary!!!
