often go have lunch there at the fish and chips place near the south west corner of the building on the main level. forget what it's called, but DELICIOUS! Also the butcher shops there have the best steaks. And there are awesome spicy pepperoni sticks. REAL pepperoni sticks, not that crap at the supermarkets.

My boyfriend and I go to the Market every Saturday morning. We always go to the Sausage King as Rob loves their Pepperettes. We buy 15 for $5.00. I like the mild.. he likes the hot.
Most of the time we go to Paddingtons for lunch, I love their peameal bacon sandwich. We also have to stop at one of the butchers who have the smoked dog bones.... last time we brought bones home for Dekota and Wyatt.. they were sooo happy.
We also make a trip over to the north building across the street for our sausages and peppers. We look forward to our Saturday mornings at the market.

The St. Lawrence Market is an awesome place to buy food, especially if you're tired of the prepackaged, processed junk available at the supermarkets.

I find I can get a better quality steak for half the price you'd pay at No Frills or the other supermarkets pound for pound, and get better quality meat to boot. Several meat vendors offer filet mignon cuts for $5. A decent NY Striploin will run you about $8. And bacon? Once you've tasted the bacon from any of the vendors here you'll realize the stuff you get at the supermarkets is just plain garbage.

This market has one highlight in particular. The Carousel Bakery. Home of the world famous Peameal Back Bacon Sandwich. To die for. It's not too unusual to spot celebrities in the lineup for these babies at lunch time.

Toronto, Canada's St. Lawrence Market, located west of Jarvis Street, between King Street East and the Esplanade, is owned by the City of Toronto. The City operates several programs at the Complex: the Farmers' Market, Market Carts, Occasional Use, Special Events, Rental Facilities and Permanent Tenancies. For information on any of these, call (416) 392-7120 or St. Lawrence Market. In 1803, Governor Peter Hunter issued a proclamation that the land bounded by Front, Jarvis, King and Church streets be officially designated the "Market Block." Since that time, the Market Block, expanded to include the land created by landfill south of Front Street, has been a centre of government, commerce and social activity, first for the city of York, and then for Toronto. The main floor of the South Market from the Market Gallery The main and lower levels of the South Market contain over 50 specialty vendors, known for the variety and freshness of their fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, grains, baked goods and dairy products, as well as for the uniqueness of the non-food items for sale.

The second floor of the South Market is home to the Market Gallery, the official exhibition centre for the City of Toronto Archives.

Shopping at the Farmers' Market The North Market is primarily known for its Saturday Farmers' Market, a tradition begun on this site in 1803 and continuing today, as the producers of Southern Ontario bring their seasonal produce to market in the city.
