Our basement was already finished, but because we had intermittent water issues and a lot of bugs, we decided to pretty much gut the whole thing down to the foundation. It was a good thing we did because there was no end of problems, from dangerous existing electrical work to very large cracks and other openings in the foundation letting in water. It was a difficult renovation and we knew it would be because we had a water problem, plus it was obvious from the finishes that the previous work was not done professionally. And the deeper we went the more obvious it was that previous work was done very poorly and often not to code, including structural problems.
Dmitry and his team were incredibly detailed when it came to identifying issues and proposing solutions. And the work itself from the various trades was excellent. Dmitry truly has a talented and knowledgeable team.
I know I was not necessarily an easy client and Dmitry handled that with Grace. I was very picky about what went into my basement, from insulation, to window frames, fixtures, VOC free vinyl flooring, VOC free shiplap, low VOC paint ...
And, what really impressed me is that Dmitry and his team were able to realize my vision for what i wanted the finished product of my basement to look like. They created a beautiful barn board accent wall in a small room/bedroom and another accent wall in the hallway. The one in the hallway was challenging because all they had to go by was an image from Pinterest. It consisted of some intricate trim work. It turned out beautifully. I also wanted shiplap in the fireplace room. It wasn't easy getting 10foot boards downstairs and then putting them up one piece at a time on uneven walls. And then there is my gym space, which turned out just as i imagined, separated from the rest of the basement with custom glass doors. I could go on and on, but i fear i will run of space.
In summary, i have worked with many contractors in the past. I know good work and i know detailed work. With regards to costs Dmitry is fair and reasonable. I would recommend him and his team for your next renovation project.

I contracted Bedrock Basements to put in a legal, small 2 bedroom apartment in my basement. Dmitry came over and we discussed what I wanted. I chose them because they came in at a much more affordable total than the 5 other companies that I received quotes from. Dmitry was professional, helpful and thorough. He was on top of my Permit when it was taking a long time to be received. He was organized and kept me informed of the trades people who would be coming in daily. His team of contractors/trades people were all professional, polite, respectful and clean. They would come in bright and early and worked all day to achieve timelines. Dmitry even repaired my gate so it would close and it was not part of the contract. My husband and I had been contemplating finishing our basement for a few years now. However, like most people today, looking to pursue such a project we had a lot to consider....

The quality of work (of course), time to complete the project, and most of all the cost.

With much thought we contacted five different companies both big and small to come into our home to see our space and provide us with what we hoped would be a honest and fair estimate base on our "VISION" and our "BUDGET"

With allot to consider, we ultimately decided to go with Dmitry, and we are extremely happy we did!! Dmitry checked all the boxes.....
- completion of the project was executed in a timely manner (ten weeks)
- Dmitry provided options to purchase from his catalogue or choose our own finishes where Dmitry was very accommodating.
- Communication was great. We always knew when any member of Dmitry's team would show up so that we were prepared.
- And of course our budget. Dmitry's quote for this project was the most favourable in comparison to the other quotes we'd received. Even with adding in new finishes and details throughout the process.

However, what truly sealed the deal for us was knowing that we would be dealing directly with Dmitry as our project manager. This was extremely important as we consider ourselves to be highly detailed and quality driven people. We had a very specific vision in mind which Dmitry was excited to take on and eager to tackle working closely with us to meet any and all expectations.

Highly recommend Bedrock Basements. Dmitry came over to discuss our project - approx 1400 sq ft basement. He listened to our vision, made recommendations to enhance the space and produced a 3D plan and itemized quote.

He gave us a link to his catalogue of a great selection of quality fixtures from which we could choose and also gave us the option to provide our own for his team to install. We did a mix of both. He brought over a large selection of floor, tile and paint samples to choose from. The project went like clockwork.

Dmitry’s project management and communication skills are exceptional, as well as his knowledge of current building code. We always knew which trade was coming and when. The trades people (framers, dry wallers, tapers, plumbers, electricians, painters, finishers) were professional, efficient, respectful, took pride in their work and always cleaned up after themselves. Malpractices among contractors created fear within me. With a silent prayer, I ventured out looking for one.

Bedrock Basements just finished a basement in our house in Wasaga Beach. I would highly recommend using them as an honest, reliable and dependable contractor. My wife and I had a great experience from start to finish with Dmitri, our project manager, and his team. At the beginning of the project Dmitri spent a considerable time working with us on a basement floor plan and had great suggestions for ways to use the space. After few revisions he produced a 3D drawing that in addition to leaving spaces had all the desired features including a sauna room and a steam shower in the full bathroom next to it. The drawing provided a clear understanding of how our finished basement will look like at the end of the project and helped to establish the project scope and the budget. During the construction Dmitri was always available to answer any questions and was very helpful with providing choices of finishing materials, including floors, tiles, door hardware to name a few. He also had very helpful design suggestions. The project was well planned and finished in 10 weeks, as promised at the estimated cost. The team worked on a tight schedule very efficiently, being there almost every work day. All of the people who came to our house were respectful and did excellent work. We are very pleased with our finished basement!

I really appreciated the attention to freeing up the cluttered builder unfinished basement obstructions by rerouting plumbing, HVAC, and opening up the staircase as well as building a great feature piece around the HVAC / support beam all while explaining what was possible and why. Dmitry also included a great selection of tile, paint, trim, doors and custom made shelving finishes that help the space stand out.

The entire crew was professional and respectful of the property and had pride of workmanship as well. Dmitry hit all key milestones and ensured work continued throughout the entire project and was able to finish as scheduled. Very happy with the features, new space and function now added to our home.
