Poorly ran business that only focuses on taking your money. Rent doubled out of nowhere after a couple of months even though some of the dollies are broken, and the two that aren’t (yes there’s only two dollies for the whole place, so better hope you’re magically the only person there when you visit) are very dirty, bring gloves unless you want to go home with grime on your hands. Roughly paying $300 a month for a 10’x10’ even though this location is not in the heart of the city. The offer you get when you sign up is literally just a trap, there's no mention that it’s temporary so don’t let them convince you otherwise when you sign up.

Very clean facility. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They took their time to show me around and go through all the access points. I didn't feel rushed.

When I walked into SmartStop today it was super busy but Moiz was great handling the crowd of people! He was a delight today helping us with our unit. It was so refreshing having someone so professional and patient aiding us with this process!!

This company is absolutely the worst to deal with. They are disorganized, unprofessional, and blatantly dishonest. They put my belongings in auction despite an agreement I made with their agent and owner to pay $600 and move out. It’s clear they saw valuable items in my unit and are just trying to make money off of them. Even after I paid in full last time, my access code didn’t work, and I couldn’t even get into my unit.

The managers are incredibly rude and don’t know how to do their jobs. When I asked why I received an email that didn’t reflect the agreed-upon deal, the manager hung up on me. He later sent another email to “rectify” his mistake, but the damage was done. They also illegally claimed to have sent me a notice by mail during a Canada Post strike, even though they had my email on file and knew I requested communication via email only. I still have not received that letter to this day.

On top of that, when I tried to file an insurance claim for missing items from my unit, I contacted the insurance company, and they told me someone from the office would follow up with me the next day. No one ever did. When I reached out again, the office refused to process my claim, saying, “the event hasn’t happened.” That’s not for them to decide—it’s up to the insurance company. It’s extremely shady that I have to contact the store to make a claim, only for them to refuse to handle it.

Additionally, this company raises their unit prices every two months without notice and increases fees like late payment charges arbitrarily—sometimes by 20% or more. Their policies are all over the place, and they seem to make up prices and rules as they go.

They don’t secure belongings properly, fail to manage their location, and are money-hungry thieves. Avoid SmartStop at all costs. They will only cause you frustration and put your belongings at risk.

Would not recommend this place for long term storage. They’ve upped the rent about 3 times since the year started. They claimed they mailed the notice which I didn’t receive as it was a shock when I say how I was paying almost 300 for a 10x12 unit. Absolutely ridiculous. They hook you with the starting price which is usually on a deal but when it’s done, you’re gonna wish you didn’t take it!
