O'Flaherty's Landscape Supply, Whitby Reviews (1)
DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE NICENESS OF THIS MAN
My worst shopping experience ever dealing with these guys. The paving stones I liked was in stock but I needed more to of the finish the job. Tony the manager (owner ?) phoned the supplier and ordered more under his account. He has not provided bill or any written confirmation of this order.
He got angry with me and willing to cancel the order after I asked him for receipt showing HST was paid. Grudgingly he provided a handwritten receipt with no reference to the actual transaction details, not really useful for any follow-ups. In hindsight I should have followed my instinct and cancel the order. After taking home the bricks I bought from the stock I worked on the layout and realized that the 3 different size can be arranged in a pleasing pattern. Since the only information I had was the model name by searching the Internet I found the Supplier was ARMTEC. I contacted the landscaping division and asked if they could
modify the order placed on my behalf , which did not affect the total square footage ordered merely the allocation among three different sizes. The order desk confirmed the change on the phone.
Upon delivery to my surprise all the bricks delivered were full size and different size than the order I brought home. (They were 9x12 instead of 9x6). The policy I was told is that no change can be made without the originator’s approval.
When I phoned O’Flaherty’s the named purchaser on the order Tony was angry with me because I contacted the ARMTEC and rudely hung up on me saying too bad that is my problem.
I trusted this man who acts deceivingly casual and friendly but hides a darker personality of short temper and abrupt dismissal of professional behavior.
In conclusion these are the failure points:
• No written confirmation provided to the customer
• Attempt to hide billing transactions and Suppliers name
• No concerns shown for Customer needs
• No technical product info provided ( e.g. layout patterns)
• Totally non-professional and insulting behavior
